REVIEW FROM 3 YEARS AGO: Tacos de queso Birria are so delicious, the vibe here is pretty awesome too. Can’t go wrong with birria los primos, keep it up.*

*3/2025 * I have to give an update, it’s been a while since I’ve been here and I have to say I’m disappointed. We came because of Taco Tuesday $1 birria tacos & we should’ve known we weren’t going to get their full sized tacos. It isn’t a big deal, we just thought it was funny because we were talking about right before we arrived on what to expect & we figured there was a catch. That’s not the part that annoyed us though. We ordered 10 tacos and these ladies saw it was a family not just one person, even if, they could’ve asked for how many people or if we needed extra trays or anything like that. It was ridiculous, a family of 4 having to eat out of one tray with 4 pieces of paper towels, one small conzome for 10 tacos, 1 tiny container of only one type of salsa didn’t even ask which one we wanted and it was only filled up half way. When I asked for more she looked bothered but gave me some more… not to mention the sign that y’all have taped on the counter by the register. Y’all should think twice about taking that down, it definitely rubbed me the wrong way and I’m not that type of person to be offended by something like that. We all know we have a huge homelessness problem in Houston but it makes you look very arrogant and money hungry when you have a sign that says “go volunteer at a shelter if you want to feed the homeless, don’t give them our tacos.” That’s crazy, it definitely made me want to just stick to the food trucks, they’re not even that stingy & definitely treat you better.

Food is mid, it didn’t...

Pulled up to Birria Los Primos in Houston and I have to say… this spot really impressed me. I went with the birria burrito and from the first bite, I knew it was different. They don’t skimp here—the burrito was stuffed with rice and birria, grilled just right, and packed with so much meat that every bite was loaded with flavor. The birria itself? Tender, juicy, seasoned to perfection, and just melted in your mouth. Honestly, it’s one of those burritos that makes you sit back and say, yeah, this is why I came.

Now here’s where it caught me off guard—the french fries. I wasn’t expecting much, but they turned out to be one of the biggest highlights of the meal. Crispy, well-seasoned, and easily some of the best fries I’ve ever had at a Mexican food spot. Like, I would seriously come back just for the fries alone. And when I saw they had birria smothered fries on the menu? Say less. I already know those would be a must-order for me next time—I’d definitely smash those without hesitation.

The whole experience had that authentic, neighborhood vibe. Nothing fancy, just straight-up good food done right. Sometimes the simplest dishes, when they’re executed at a high level, are what make a place unforgettable. And that’s exactly what Los Primos did for me.

Overall, this is a 5/5 spot—from the food to the unexpected gems on the menu, it’s the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before...

I was in Houston on business. I wanted to have something not easily found in Miami. I did some research on my way to the hotel from the airport. I decided on Birria Los Primos. A 4.8 rating and walking distance from my hotel…SOLD!!! When I approached the counter I was asked to wait several times. The place was empty. I waited almost 5 minutes, again the rating is 4.8. When I was finally approached about what I wanted to order I asked if they recommended the Birria Ramen or Los Primos Platter. I was recommended the Birria Ramen. I then asked which dessert did they recommend. I was told the cakes upstairs are better not to bother. When I got my CUP OF NODDLE “Birria Ramen” I was floored. I then thought “Give a chance”. That was a mistake. The noodles were chewy but I was starving. I ate it disappointingly. My impression was the person behind the counter was avoiding to their job and resorted to doing the bare minimum. I do not recommend Birria Los Primos due to terrible service and...
