DaddyO's Pizza - Memorial — Restaurant in Houston

We stopped by DaddyO's Pizza located at 861 Dairy Ashford yesterday for some lunch and I will begin by saying that I already cant wait to visit this place again soon!! Brick oven baked pizza at its FINEST! As soon as you walk in you feel taken care of, the staff was very friendly and helpful with all questions we had about the menu, It had a cozy vibe with seating indoor & outdoor. I love restaurants that are transparent about their kitchen (open/glass kitchens. This is proof they keep everything clean and have nothing to hide, DaddyO's was clean & organized very neatly! Now let’s talk about the food!!

Their sodas are made a company based out of Oak Cliff, Texas called “Real Sugar Soda”. They use real cane sugar, none of that fake stuff! For our appetizer we ordered their hot wings which are now my new favorite!! The wings are lightly breaded and BAKED in their brick oven but still crispy yall! The buffalo sauce on the wings is the perfect mix of spicy, yet smokey flavor, the fact that they are baked in the brick oven gives them a unique delicious flavor & healthier!!

As for our pizza, we honestly couldn’t make up our mind so we chose the 5th Avenue which is topped with grilled chicken, fresh spinach, roma tomatoes, feta cheese, fresh garlic, whole-milk mozzarella & their fresh house pizza sauce!! To add our own spin we asked if they could swirl some Buffalo sauce on it and they were more than happy to do that for us! I meannnn.......soooo yummy!! The crust was perfectly crispy on the bottom from the brick oven bake & still chewy on the top with all the delicious toppings! The fresh mozzarella cheese stretched for days, the chicken was perfect cooked, and the fresh garlic was that burst of flavor that we LOVE!!

For the second pizza we did the "Create your own pie” topped it with good old pepperoni & bacon (can never go wrong with that duo) and also asked if they could swirl ranch around the pizza! The pepperoni was beautifully curled up just how I love. Since this pizza didn’t have many toppings, it allowed for the fresh house pizza sauce to make its appearance and it was PERFECTION!

By this point we were almost full but we were not going to miss out on tasting their desserts . We ordered “Mama’s Baklava which we were told was an authentic family recipe! I will just say, it’s by far THE BEST Baklava I’ve had in Houston thus far, seriously! DaddyO's gives you the option to drizzle Nutella over any of the desserts so we went ahead and drizzled the Baklava with Nutella. We also ordered the “Chocolate Fudge Cake" which is what I always imagined the cake from the movie “Matilda” would taste like (if you know, you know) lol. It was moist, fluffy, and had a true chocolate taste. It wasn’t extremely sweet like all those chocolate cakes you taste from the store, you can tell right away that the cake is made with pure ingredients.

Finally, I personally cant leave any restaurant without tasting their cheesecake because I like to compare all cheesecakes to my favorite cheesecake from a popular restaurant here in Houston…I am not lying to you when I say that DaddyO's has taken my number one spot for cheesecake!! The fluffiest cheesecake I’ve had and it is sweetened to the perfect point where you can still taste the subtle cheese flavor that a CHEESE-cake should have. We also drizzled Nutella on the cheesecake because why not?! Lol

Full Summary

Food - They use a brick oven which delivers a high even heat. This is significant because it leaves the cheese perfectly melted and and well cooked slightly crispy dough that is just right. I ordered an all meat pizza and the meats were all seasoned well and distributed topping wise perfectly. Nothing dominated the other ingredients leaving me with a cheesy gooey meat filled bite each time. Was really impressed with the delivery of flavor. I also ordered garlic bread which was crispy with plenty of garlic butter goodness without being burnt. Also had an IBC root beer while I waited.

Staff - When I went in it was slow but the staff were busy and greeted me and were friendly. Very courteous lots of smiles that came from job satisfaction. Again was really impressed as this is not something most companies seem to be able to do.

Cleanliness - Again stunningly clean restaurant. A 5 we one rule would probably become a 30 second rule in the store. No floor debris and everything was organized and clean.

Decor - sleek and modern overall. Looked great when combined with how clean they kept it.

Overall Final Thoughts - loved the place. I wish I had stopped by sooner so I could have enjoyed them earlier. With an execution of business like this it's impossible to not want to go back. 5 well earned and well...

I live really close to Daddyo's, but never got around to stopping by until recently. It always looked like it was empty, so I was wary to try it out, but after dining in I realized a lot of people just take their food to go!

The inside of the restaurant is a bit small, but since most people take their food to go, we were able to sit right away. Everything was clean, the temperature was nice and cool, and the booths are comfy! There is also a TV.

I went with my boyfriend and his siblings, so we ordered a few different things. They have a special where you can order 2 large 2 topping pizzas for $25, so we decided to get one with pepperoni and mushrooms and another with pepperoni and sausage. We also ordered cheese sticks and wings; everything ended up being around $45. After ordering, we sat and waited for our food. Everything came out hot and fresh. The pizza was the best part; it was nice and cheesy and the crust was good! The wings and cheese sticks were average; my only complaint is that the wings could have been cooked a little longer to make them more crisp. Also, all of the employees were super nice, and made sure to check up on us.

I really enjoyed our meal and plan to come back and try more things. They have various specials, and also a deal where you get a free pizza for posting a review, so I will obviously...
