Olive Branch — Restaurant in Houston

Came in on Friday night while it was slow and the food lacked taste, authenticity and flavor. Growing up in thr middle east and reading all the highly rated reviews, I had high expectations! It was very very disappointing. The service was a bit backed up (chalked it up to small business working out it's kinks), the lady that ran the register took our order, but after doing the same with the other customers, went around giving everyone else complimentary tea except our table of 4.....which all of us noticed. Our shawarmas lacked flavor and I think we're wrapped in tortillas and not the authentic pita bread. The spicy potatoes....don't not bother, throwing some spicy hot sauce on top doesnt make them any better. Wr sent them back as most of the potatoes were half cooked and not well coated. The hummus lacked flavor and drenched in olive oil. The beef sharwma, again wrapped in tortilla and no pita, greasy and no flavor. Also, we noticed the middle eastern family who walked in and recieved the red carpet service. Will not be back, we have better smaller spots that...

The food is as mouthwatering as the presentation is enticing. We visited at an off hour and there was only one other table. All the signage indicated it was a serve yourself and pick up after yourself kind of restaurant. I placed my order at the register and was pleasantly surprised they brought the food to our table. The hummus was so good, served with pita chips, and the schwarmas were a little different than expected, but in a delicious exceed-expectations kind of different. They kindly brought ketchup to the table for the fries. Those fries did not need anything on them. We were served tea after the meal in these lovely teacups accompanied with a sweet dessert that rounded of the meal perfectly AND satisfied my soul, that's how nice that tea was. I absolutely plan to go back to try other things, I can't wait to order catering from there and definitely absolutely recommend you run don't walk to...

I had an incredible experience at Olive Branch. The customer service was absolutely top-tier—warm, thoughtful, and beyond expectations. After my meal, they offered me a cup of Turkish tea with sugar, completely unprompted. It was such a kind gesture, and the tea was rich, flavorful, and perfectly complemented my dessert.

The lamb gyro was outstanding—tender, juicy, and practically melted in my mouth. The fries were fresh, crispy, and seasoned just right. But the highlight of my visit was the baklava paired with the Turkish tea. It was the perfect finish to an already exceptional meal.

I highly recommend Olive Branch to anyone looking for quality food and unmatched hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning often. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff for making my visit so memorable.
