Denny's — Restaurant in Houston

We were there late night and told our male server to take his time because we were gonna be there a while. Apparently his understanding of take your time was, do not ever come back to our table. We flagged down the manager who flagged down our waiter and he reluctantly came around. He acted put out everytime we needed something and I actually felt bad for being there and taking up his time. I actually apologized to him everytime I asked for something because he looked very irritated having to work. I ordered a coffee and it was cold and I asked the manager for fresh coffee and she told me mine was fresh and it was the new brand that made my coffee ice cold and bitter, then 45 minutes later the server brings another cup as we are getting ready to leave. I guess he didnt want to be put out by making fresh coffee so he microwaved my coffee so long it burnt my mouth and left a blister on my lip from just taking a sip, he should have warned me it was boiling hot, like extreamly too hot.I get it we probably looked like we may not tip well because we were on skateboards and it was the middle of the night, we often will take the bus and skate around the downtown area at night to practice stunts with no one around, but we always tip well everywhere we go except for him, I think we left $4 but only because my boyfriend spilled his drink and the guy had to mop it up, that really pissed him off so I threw a few bucks on the table. This had to have been the worst service I have ever received anywhere. If I ever return I will ask for another server. I am a server and I worked at another Denkys for almost 3 years. I would have been terminated or at least written up if I had ever acted the way...

I've never been to this particular restaurant at this location, when I got here I didn't really like it at first. Because it was a big wait, about 20 mins or so . I learned later the reason why. I came here with my beautiful girlfriend and her very well behaved gorgeous daughter. Splitting image of her mother. My girlfriend I enjoyed the country fried steak that came with potatoes and a fried egg and however which way you would like it cooked, I top mine off with jalapenos which Set It Off the Chain. And her daughter had the all breakfast something rather nother pancakes and eggs and hash browns and all that other good stuff. in the picture you can see how delicious are meal look. Believe you me it looked as every bit as good as it tasted. That's why there was a wait at the door. Because the people that knows this location knows how good the food is and how well the service really is. I couldn't tell you how lucky of a person I really am to have a girlfriend that was nice enough to have treating me here.. or else I would have never even bothered to stop at this location. We come once a week to eat here and generally the food is good. The first time we were here we had a waitress named Gina Bernard who really went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. Regrettably the last 4 times we came to this location we didn't get to have her as our waitress, the waitresses that did serve us were inattentive and borderline rude. As far as the food it was only ok because I had special ordered my hash browns to be cooked a certain way and each time I had to send the meal back because they didn't cook my meal right. Then tonight when we arrived Gina meet us at the door holding one open for my 97 year old grandmother. She instantly made us feel so welcome and she made my grandma smile so much. She went on to insure we had FRESH coffee and when she took our order she also insure that my special order was cooked correctly before bringing it out to us. I MUST complement her on making our evening so great as well as providing AWESOME service.
