I am not much of a review writer but I think that this place definitely needed some recognition. We have looked all over the city (my wife and I) for a good place to take our children for ice cream. Our most recent venture led us to Fat Cats which people were raving about and all I can say was that the selection was small, the ice cream was average for home made and it was pricey. Not a place I was quick to put on my "places we need to return to" list. This time we decided to try out Marcos little place. He was extremely helpful and polite for starters and that goes a long way in my book this is Houston after all. The place was small but well kept and I immediately noticed the cappuccino machine upon entering. There were twelve gelato flavors to choose from and they were all delicious. My wife tried the lemon and strawberry flavors. I tried salted caramel and vanilla and my daughter got the chocolate chip and chocolate. Everything was well made and refreshing and my daughter said she would pay just to hear Marco's accent. Prices are comparable to any other home made ice cream/gelato places in town. We will definitely be returning and will also be recommending this place to our friends with and...
Read moreAfter we paid with credit because she wasn't taking cash. Young girl behind the counter was a bit rude. She said we could not eat our ice cream inside no tables outside. How does this place stay in business. If establishment doesn't want people inside then drive thru or tables should be provided. Then she got snippy because one of us stepped back in to throw our trash away. No trash can provided outside. REALLY.
Covid is among us still. But thats ridiculous. The icream was good and expensive but we won't be back.
UPDATE TO OWNER RESPONSE. The tables in the picture that you spoke of were all taken there was only 1 table. and I see all these people giving good reviews for customer service. I wish my first trip there would have been one of these guys. Because she had 0 customer service skills. Maybe I could have given you more stars and had an awesome experience for the 3 of us it was our first time. Maybe we will get lucky next time and had better service and nicer staff. What is sad is first impressions are the most lasting, it has to be right the first...
Read moreI went to Dolce Neve on a Friday night after dinner. We heard it was a brand new gelato place in the Heights area, and they just came from Austin, Texas. When we got there, it was very busy, and there were no areas to sit. It's a small ice cream shop with minimal seating, but they also have some patio seating.
We were offered to try some samples before we settled on our gelato choices. They were all pretty amazing, but I ended up going for a small cup which included two scoops of ice cream for $4.16. I went with the Vanilla from Madagascar and the Organic Hazelnut. These were both so delicious. The organic hazelnut flavor tasted like Ferrero Rocher chocolate if you're into that.
Overall, I enjoyed the gelato here. The flavors were really amazing, and I like that they have a private parking lot. Their gelato is a little pricey, but it's okay once in a while. We'll definitely be...
