The staff here are resistant to serve African American patrons. 5 adults and a sleeping baby. Arrived on a Monday around 2pm. We were seated in the corner of the small covered deck area. We sat for 15 minutes and had to get up and find someone to take our order. Meanwhile, a party of 7 was seated directly across from us after we had arrived and received consistent service from the moment they sat down. Their waiter would immediately take off after serving them and would not even look back at us when we tried to get service. A party of about 15 who was there before us received consistent service from their server as well. In such a small room, it was easy to keep track of whom was being served. After hunting down another server it was explained that they were short staffed, which we empathized with. Nonetheless, it does not justify why the tables around us had servers frequenting their tables while we had to find someone new every time. There was brown sediment in the Sprite ordered so we asked for another and it was worse than the first. My order was wrong and any we made requests were written off. Every server we had would disappear and never come back. After waiting for another 15 minutes, we found yet another person who was willing to get us new drinks. A female staff member whom we had never seen before brought them out but they were incorrect. When we asked if she could fix them, she had an attitude. That was the final straw. After getting up to find a manager, I walked into that female staff member hugging up on a male staff member in the drink prep area, signaling that she had no urgency. I chose to walk our drinks back to make sure they actually arrived.
While our manner should not have to be described to justify whether or not we are deserving of service, we were not loud, rude, or impatient. We cooperatively waited long periods of time between each request. Despite the extremely prejudice service, we paid for our food and left. I genuinely hate to make a review of this nature but it must be said so the staff of Teotihuacan can know it is NEVER okay to treat other people of color poorly. Members of our party had been there before and enjoyed their food but I guess too many Black patrons at one table is enough to warrant the assumption that we are not worthy of receiving...

An absolute disappointment, I have been providing my business to this establishment since 2015. I recently dined in on 08/13/23 after church service. This place has been going downhill since the pandemic of 2020. While dinning in we noticed portions have gone down and prices have only gone up. On top of that the waitresses there are un professional including the manager that runs this place. After we finished our terrible experience I leave a $5 tip and the waitress looks at me, and says āare you serious?ā āMy service was great and this what you give meā She mad a whole scene. She tried to embarrass me and my family because of her terrible financial situation. If you are upset over you not having enough money or this or that, have some self accountability over your terrible career. Donāt blame my $5 tip for you not being able to provide for your family. Pic a different career path idc. This is not my fault. My job is to afford the food that is being cooked. What I give you out of my pocket is out of my gratitude, you donāt know what my financial situation is. If your service was so great why did I wait on my refills of drinks, why was food sent back because you didnāt notate your ticket properly? Right. I wish I would of gotten her name, she was fat with glasses and carried her self terribly. Smelled funny. The manager was notified and he said oh Iām sorry Iāll talk with her. Terrible client resolution skills, these kind of people canāt even fix a bitter coffee. Terrible that this establishment has tarnished terribly. TO THE OWNER OR SORRY EXCUSE OF MANAGEMENT THAT WILL READ THIS. DO NOT REPLY TO ME WITH A SORRY EXCUSE OF AN APOLOGY. Please donāt even reply. I am simply on here so I can save people a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been visiting this establishment since they first started in the hole in the wall location at Irvington and Cavalcade. The food and service has always been on point and delicious. My family and I frequent the Airline location on a weekly basis and have never had an issue with food and service. This evening we ordered our usual (Fajitas for two). We had to send back the rice that was cold not once, but twice. The chicken and beef fajitas were tough and dry. We added on some sausage, which came out cold as well. When we brought it up to the sever (Katherine) she blamed it on the climate outside the establishment. What does outside climate have to do with an indoor establishment. We asked to speak to a manager (Alfredo). I extended my hand to him and introduced myself. Not once did he express any gratitude to fix the situation after explaining what the problem was. His response was blunt with no expression wanting to make things right. "Do you want us to remake, or take it off of the bill?" Myself as an Operations Manager, I deal highly in Customer Service. His approach was very unprofessional and very much questionable. I have never had a bad experience with Teotihuacan until this evening. This was a very unpleasant evening for my family and I. We are very proud individuals and do not expect or want hand outs. We just want hot food and great service. Which has what we have received up until...
