I am honestly more than anything absolutely disgusted with the experience I had here. My boyfriend and I were trying to have a virtual Valentine’s Day diner bc I’m out of town at the moment. I am unsure on how to even put into words of how i felt other than discrimination. He ordered my food through DoorDash and I planned to sit down and have a drink and enjoy my food with him on FaceTime.
The host which was a white female with blue eyes and had a headband on. Told me “there going to close at 9” I walked in at 8:10pm. 40min before they close. She then told me there was this long wait time as well. I said okay and waited for my order which wasn’t ready yet. I then proceeded to see a family walk in which she said the same thing that there was a wait but if they wanted to place their food so it would be ready when their table was ready. I was upset but I let it go. And then I see a person walk in by themselves again she tells him there’s a wait and so on. He stays by the front and then she proceeds to tell him he can sit at the bar. Even made room for him on the edge.
And at that point I was LIVID. I was so upset that I decided to confront her about it and then out of nowhere she says that it’s actually a rule that you can’t eat there if you order to go. If that were true I don’t understand why she didn’t say that in the first place. And even if that was the case how did she know I wouldn’t have wanted to just have a drink at the bar or something or if I would’ve order something else just to be able to eat there.
I feel angry , sad , and discriminated against. I called after my experience they were somewhat apologetic but really just were giving me reasoning and explanation on why it happened how it happened. After speaking to a manager on the phone I honestly told them I would have to think about coming back thought they offered me a gift card “ so that I could see that it was just under these excuses and explanations “ that I experienced this but it wasn’t *discriminatory. Manager gave a new explanation that apparently walk in customer are prioritized before DoorDash customers though technically I was a walking bc my bf literally placed a pickup DoorDash order for me.
I decided to leave a review after receiving my 20.00$ gift card. My boyfriend spent about $50.00 on my meal and dessert which I didn’t even get to enjoy or eat bc of how horrible and ugly I felt after the experience. I dressed up got ready to have a romantic lovely night. And I drove 30min in traffic to dine here.
I will not be returning. And I hope this truly was a “misunderstanding” because I wouldn’t wish the experience I...
Read moreBreakfast tacos- the sausage flavor threw me off but I got used to it and they were really good with the dipping sauce. Very filling, too and full of protein. Would order again. House omelette- I didn’t notice it came with mushrooms (oops) so I had to pick those out along with the spinach due to the texture, but this is all personal preference. It was well done and still yummy nonetheless and I finished it all. The side of potatoes was really good. I added my own salt and pepper because I like bold flavors. The chickpea curry- rich, spiced, creamy taste. Very good and filling for sure. Loved the recipe. Brownie- It was thick and dry. My guess is the flour used causes this effect. I bake vegan treats at home and I would suggest using banana for the egg replacement. if you use almond flour, that becomes more sticky and solid when baked so I stick with all purpose. Or perhaps add layers of chocolate fudge between the cake stacks to moisten it? The flavor is also on the neutral side. I can see this appealing to people that prefer dark chocolates or things that aren’t too sweet. It was dissatisfying for a brownie / chocolate cake though. If that recipe was revamped, it could improve the texture.
Service- amazing. Super friendly staffed. Very patient and attentive. Our waitress, Sarah, was able to give information about the menu and offer recommendations. I heard her offer great service to the tables next to us as well. The rest of staff I interacted with was fun and friendly and we had a good time.
Atmosphere- beautiful decor. Nice patio. I’m so grateful they use egg, meat, cheese, and cream substitutes!!! Lots of vegan restaurants just avoid all of it and only serve veggies but I’m a big fan of vegan eggs so I chose to try this place out.
Would definitely go again. I hope the feedback can be constructive and helpful and does not portray the...
Read moreI visited Ginger Mule last night with a party of five to celebrate a friend's birthday. Initially, our experience was promising—the waiter was friendly, and we were seated promptly. However, things took a turn when my friend and I were the only ones in our group who hadn’t received our meals.
After waiting for quite some time, our waiter checked on us and realized that he had accidentally forgotten our orders, which were placed after the table behind us—who seemed to know him—as they received their food much earlier. We arrived at 6:40 PM and didn’t leave until nearly 9 PM, which was quite frustrating.
It seemed that the restaurant was not managing the service well. I believe there should be a system in place to prevent staff from becoming overwhelmed, as was evident last night.
I've been a loyal customer since the restaurant opened, and I've always enjoyed the menu items. However, I've noticed a decline in quality, likely due to cost-cutting measures. For instance, the lasagna tasted overwhelmingly like butternut squash, and I would not recommend the enchiladas, which have lost their once-delicious flavor.
The tacos I ordered were decent, but the accompanying dipping broth was a disappointment—it was oddly sweet and reminded me of diluted ketchup.
A suggestion for the restaurant: consider incorporating dairy-free pasta options and using alternatives like Impossible or Beyond Meat without compromising your original recipes.
Overall, while there are still a few good items on the menu, the decline in service and food quality is unfortunate. I hope to see improvements...
