Gloria's Latin Cuisine — Restaurant in Houston

The lunch went great, everyone at my table including the main guest (company's executive) was very happy and satisfied. The manager was attentive, careful, and sympathetic, I liked when she approach our table checking on us, thank you. Our waiter was kind and cordial, his very little- above standard service kept everyone happy, we went by well anyway (no drinks refills, never brought an extra set of silver, no spoons for the appetizers - dipping ships is unsanitary for more than one person-, had a vegetarian - totally undeserved, did not have the courtesy to suggest menu options - sad part, she suggested the restaurant because she likes it, but she had to settle for a salad, she did not finish, really?). I want to thank you for our table set up details, they were beyond perfect and everything was exactly as requested, you impressed all the guests, THANK YOU. food was great, well served ( everyone at once), good temp, nice flavor, and perfect portions. Drinks are good too, nice refreshing tea. The kitchen's attention to detail in our food met the expectation, THANK YOU. The overall dining experience was great, but did not set the mark. I can tell from host, waiter assistant and kitchen work as team, but the waiter shadowed and set backs the team effort. We will be back because the guest like the restaurant. I invited and coordinated the lunch, my co-workers choose the restaurant, but I personally would hesitate if i am invited to dine there again. Ah, it is annoying that I could not make the reservation online (visited their website), had to call and OH Boy, whoever answered is incompetent because he/she cannot take notes/details on a reservation without the manager...

Today was our first and last time going. We were walking the mall and stumbled across this restaurant. I checked the online reviews and the menu and it stated they had happy hour until 7pm. We went in and got served and when asked what to drink I stayed I want the happy hour margarita. The waitress stayed they were not doing happy hour and I asked why she did not know so I asked for a manager. The manager came and stayed becuae they are working at 25% capacity that they would not be doing happy hour until, from what he made it sound, later down the line when they had more business. I went on to let him know they needed to fix the online menu the. If that was going to be the case. Another lady manager came to tell me pretty much the same thing and I let her know the other managed had told me. But what really got me is that an African American couple that was sitting at another table, the manager went on to tell them she would give their drink at the happy hour price. I’m sure she thought I didn’t hear, but six feet away you can still hear things. I would think we would be treated the same way, but I’m assuming since I’m Hispanic and would not make a bigger deal, the decided to charge me more. Y’all really need to get y’all pricing in check because other restaurants are not doing this to me, especially managers picking and choosing who and what pricing they...

If I could leave 0 stars I definitely would! I absolutely love this restaurant and the atmosphere, but today will be my last time in attendance! My waiter Angel Quino was extremely unprofessional and ridiculous. We had a large party and several people informed me gratuity was added in so I did not choose to leave an additional tip. My bill was also incorrect and I was charged for someone else’s meal I informed Angel and he didn’t even offer to edit the bill. No biggie. What topped it off is I was outside of the facility walking to my car he chases me out and goes hey you didn’t tip me and I inform him stating I thought it was included. He says no I work off tips so and has a pen and my receipt with him. I tell him how unprofessional he is as a black woman I was utterly humiliated because the way he chased me made it seem as though I stole or something. I would’ve had no problem tipping him if he would’ve addressed it differently, you do not chase someone to their vehicle after leaving. I also informed him I would be reporting this incident and all he said was ok after harassing me. He then goes inside and tells my friend “your friend didn’t sign so we’re going to add a tip since she won’t” I did sign obviously , and that is fraud!
