JJ Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Houston

First off service was good I’ll give them that. They were nice and friendly… now the food…

Not even hating! But being from Chicago i grew up on JJ’s specifically the one on 111th and Halsted! This is NOT the same thing at all whatsoever! Wings were extremely tiny and small and the fish was no where near the similar taste to chicago or the JJ’s brand … tasted like Swai (people often try to past this as catfish but it’s NOT catfish and it was way overpriced)

The mild sauce also was not authentic mild sauce! Way thicker than what mild sauce typically is. Kinda tasted like bbq sauce and ketchup mixed sadly

The pizza puff legit tasted like a Hot pocket out of the grocery store! The only that that was consistent was the Lemmon pepper seasoning on the food and fries which were just okay

If you do Midwest food in the South you gotta do it right! It’s a lot of us out here now! I was extremely disappointed with the quality of my meal and spent 30 bucks. I know they opened a month ago… I’ll give it some time and try again maybe but this was a HORRIBLE experience food wise! If you from Chicago good luck. Again not even hating just being...

I’ve been here twice. The fish with the lemon pepper powder is pretty decent. My issue is with the terrible service. I went through the drive-thru and there was no one ahead of me nor behind. After paying at the window for my fish and fries, I waited…and waited…and waited. At first, I figured they are frying the fish fresh so I wasn’t too bothered but after nearly 20 minutes of waiting and everyone walking around inside and playing on their phones, I got annoyed. I started this one woman down who was sitting at the register playing on her phone and she finally caught my eyes and got up. She retrieved what appeared to be my ticket and told some of the teenage girls to fix my plate. When I finally got my food after 20 mins, I told the cashier that the wait time was ridiculous. She said “it’s made fresh”. I said someone could have come back to the window to tell me it was cooking and would be a few more minutes or offered me a complimentary beverage or something. She stared at me blankly and repeated “it’s made fresh” like she was a robot or something.

Anyways, the food is decent but the service is trash so I won’t...

The food was decent. The hush puppies were so bland, even the po boy sauce couldn’t save them. Crab legs were okay, but when I ordered spicy garlic I actually expected them to be spicy. We were 2 of 5 people in the entire place. Took 40+ min to get our food. Our canned sodas and a water? At least 10 min. We had to ask multiple times to have our drinks brought out and he brought them out one at a time? Made no sense. They didn’t have any music playing so it was dead silent and not a very enjoyable ambiance. The bathroom was decently clean, but my main cause for concern is there is no soap dispenser. Or I guess there was, but it was just laying broken and empty on the sink. And right next to it is the sign saying employees must wash hands before returned to service area. Well I’d like to see them try without the soap. Oh, and the bathroom door doesn’t close. I had to stand outside while my sister went just to make sure no one walked in on her. Overall disappointed and will not...
