My neighborhood Pappa John's is on Old Spanish Trail in Houston,TX. After teaching summer school today ( a rambunctious group of amazing high school students), I looked forward to ending a long week with a well deserved pizza. The young lady who took my order later stated that she was the manager. No receipt and she didn't even ask what crust I wanted. After 5 minutes, I asked her what was the New York crust. She stated that it was like the picture and it was too late to change my mind, assuming that I would. Having worked at Domino's at 17 (ages ago), I know that asking the type of crust is customary. Moreover, all places usually do. After explaining this, she stated that "she never asks". "When the pizza was ready, I respectfully asked for the general manager's name. She wrote "Kim" on a paper, wiped her nose, and placed it on my food. I usually do not complain, but now that I home, the pizza is going in the trash. If someone wipes their noses in my presence, imagine what she did when I returned to my car. YUCK!!!

I'm writing to report a disappointig experience at my local Papa Johnās after a long week of teaching summer school. Needing a relaxing end to a busy day, I decided to treat myself to a pizza this evening.
What happened:
The young woman who took my order identified herself as the manager but didn't provide a receipt or ask which crust I would like.
About five minutes later, I asked what the āNew Yorkā crust entailed. She vaguely replied that it ālooked like the pictureā and implied it was too late to change my order.
When I picked up the pizza, I politely requested the general managerās name. She scribbled āKimā on a scrap of paper, after wiping her nose with her bare hands without washing them, and handed it to meāplacing it directly on my food. She even stated that she did not have any additional contact information. (A manager?)
At the time, I chose not to make a scene. But now that Iām home and reflecting on it, I find the entire interaction unacceptable. Was understanding about this, and instead of dealing with it the manager is just making g me hold endlessly when I call instead of picking up. Literally every three min just keep getting put on hold.
At the least use a dif papa Johnās location these guys clearly suck.
also no pizza ever got delivered to me. Still attempting to speak to someone about DoorDash refunding my money for the order I put in on the papa Johnās appā¦.
Update: finally spoke to worker after holding 30 min. She tells me I need to call door dash when DoorDash is saying itās their fault and I need to call them.
Supposedly the owner was listening and says I said something out of the way. Which they could not tell me what I said and ended on they didnāt want to be arguing with customers.
Please stay away.
Edit after manager response: this is a lame attempt to look like your taking care of things. How about instead of making it up to me in An email you handle the actual issue at hand. I still donāt have my money back and you trying to make it up.
Lame. Out of touch, and clearly the business owner doesnāt understand how to run a business.

When I called two seconds after the mistake and the district manager said we should cancel this and didnāt. It was your problem.
The second my pizzas didnāt make it you should have remade them and sent them to my family. We would have been happy and you could have worked on your issues with hiring a third party company to do your work.
Stop trying to make it up and make stuff right so you donāt have issues.

As someone who is a manager in the industry, I understand mistakes happen (although quality of the food tells me the staff is poorly trained or has lack of leadership) but what has led me to writing this review is a lack of commitment from the GM. I called the day after I placed my order as by the time I received my order they were closed and spoke with the GM, I was pleased to hear that she was going to refund me for the entire order. I was only expecting to receive refunds for the items I didnāt receive but was happy she wanted to make right that the entire order was poorly executed. This would have been fine however after not seeing the refund in my bank account after a few days I called back and spoke with the GM again and she said she āforgotā to put the refund through and that she was doing it as we spoke. That was now three ago and I still have yet to receive my refund making it almost two weeks since She originally promised to refund me for my order. I can forgive orders being messed up, I cannot forgive a General Manager not doing something as simple as refunding an order when you say you will. Do not order from this location as if the General Manager is this disorganized then I shudder to think what other things like cleanliness She lets slide as the team she staffs obviously arenāt trained well enough or led by competent managers.
