One of my worst experiences of 2024. I planned on eating lunch but I needed to wash my hands. But, they keep their restrooms locked and you need a code to enter. However they will not provide the code unless you give them money. It is effect a "PAY TOILET''. According to The Wall Street Journal, there were, in 1974, at least 50,000 pay toilets in America. They were in bus stations, movie theaters, coffee shops, and restaurants. Many public toilets were pay toilets. Laws were passed and this ended the practice. In Houston the law states that: "It shall be unlawful for any person to make a charge for the use of a toilet maintained in a place open to the public or to a substantial part of the public." But Whataburger just ignores this law and charges anyone to use the toilet. They say to all of their customers that you have to buy something in order to have access to the restroom. In essence, a pay toilet. Imagine just wanting to wash your hands or your children's hand before eating and instead of letting you and your family get ready to eat, you have to buy something first. So most people will buy their meal, go to the restrooms, and when they get out of the restrooms their meal has gone cold, or even worse, some else walked off with their meal. It is disgusting to flaunt the law and to be so cavalier with their customers basic human needs. Pay toilets were outlawed decades ago but this Whataburger just doesn't care. Priss Hunt is the operating partner according to their receipts. I wonder if this Priss Hunt is ready to be sued for violating the law. Pay toilets were the very essence of discrimination, having a pay toilet allowed white business owners to legally discriminate against poor people many of which were people of color. This whataburger still discriminates against poor people. Imagine being on food stamps and having to pay $2.79 for an order of fries in order to use the restroom. That is disgusting. NO ONE IN AMERICA SHOULD EVER HAVE TO PAY TO USE A TOILET! IT IS ILLEGAL.
Look it up yourself in Houston's city code.
Sec. 28-29. - Pay toilets in public places.
It shall be unlawful for any person to make a charge for the use of a toilet maintained in a place open to the public or to a substantial part of the public.

Read moreThis is the closest location to me, so I come often. Let me start off by saying that the food at this location is never consistent. Sometimes I come and it is really good and other times I come and regret it. Tonight was one of those nights where I am very unsatisfied. This location is pretty much always busy at night, so I came prepared to wait in the drive thru line. I sat in the drive thru for about 20 minutes because there were 5 cars ahead of me when I arrived. Like I said, I come often and the line is always long so I had no problem with waiting. I associated the long wait time with them making each order fresh. I quickly learned once I got home that this was not the case. On the way home, I tried a fry and it was hot, so I thought my burger would also be hot, but when I got home my burger was cold. I got grilled onions and they were also cold. I do no stay far from whataburger so the food should have atleast been warm if it was fresh. The fries were warm when I made it home, so this tells me that my burger was not fresh. I was not satisfied with the burger at all. This is upsetting because it makes me wonder what I was waiting in line for 20 minutes for ? Ultimately, I would recommend checking your food before leaving. I had a very long day today so I did not, but...
Read moreThis location is the closest to me , the line is always long. I was in line for 1 hour, also employees that take the order does the worst job of not getting my order correctly. They made a very big mistake on my order once again, before receiving my food I always ask the employee at the window to repeat my order because mistakes are always being made. She repeated my order and got it correct, although my order on the receipt was correct when I received my order it was the wrong order. The employee rush because they see it’s always a long line outside the place for drive through and they just be grabbing things without checking to make sure it’s the correct order. This incorrect order happens every single time I come here. I honestly do not recommend this Whataburger. My burger buns was completely burnt the gave me the wrong order. I asked for a number one with nothing but mustard, and cheese. They gave me a bacon burger with extra ketchup and mayonnaise which I can’t eat because it makes me sick. And the cleanliness with the ketchup, etc. is not good at all. They always give me busted ketchup and the food is nvr fresh I always receive cold fries, burgers, etc. don’t even get me started on the management. That is also a...
