The best part of this place is the atmosphere. There’s an outdoor patio with plenty of seats, gigantic picnic tables, and just plenty of places to sit. Granted, today was a beautiful fall weather day in Houston, but they had fans and it was beautiful to sit outside. I don’t think it would be beautiful if it were too hot or humid. Kebab land is a perfect little addition to an area that needed a new place. It’s in the middle of an old shopping center and it’s not in a very safe or beautiful part of town, but it’s nice.
We were looking forward to this place because there had been so many people outside that we saw on Friday night. The food was OK. The seasonings were OK. My friends and I were there and we were a large group. We are from the east coast and we are used to great Mediterranean food. The hummus was OK.
They gave us samples of the regular and spicy hummus and this is only after we complained about all the extra charges for all the little sides… we’ve actually never paid extra for cabbage or for hummus or extra for Tatziki sauce so it was a bit much. We ordered kebab platters, plates, bowls, had some chicken, beef, and lamb and we liked the extra side of fries best, but they are your regular run of the mill frozen fries.
The lady at the counter explained some things to the first group of us, and then didn’t repeat it to me so I did not realize that cabbage, hummus, and tatziki sauce (even this!) were all add ons for my $15.99 platter which I think is a bit much. They do offer free hot tea… anyway, the service was okay, and food took way too long. We arrived and ordered around 12:45 and we had maybe 8-9 orders. The first group of plates came out around 1:03pm. That’s a long time. Thank goodness for the outside raised porch/patio because we just waited for our food and our party of 8 finally had everything by 1:25pm which is a while to wait. Not sure how they would handle drive through service… it’s a nice place to visit.
It’s not the best Mediterranean food and the lady was annoyed with us for being shocked that even sauces were add-ons. I swear, I thought she’d charge us for the ketchup as well SMH. We will likely not go back, as it just took too long, but it looks locally/family owned, so support them and if you haven’t had lots of Mediterranean food, you may like it. See pics and videos of the patio, tables, food, and the counter where you order. There is a small indoor area with about 3 little tables and it’s super well air conditioned so if you like that, eat indoors. There are small bathrooms inside as well. How to order: you go in and order chipotle/salata style. And remember that...
Read moreI came here to try it out since it's a new halal spot in Spring branch and we don't have any Halal spots in Spring Branch. I bought the Kabob platter with Rice, Grilled Veggies, French fries and Spinach hummus that came with slices of bread. I wasn't happy with it at all.
FRIES-The fries had a cheap fries waxy taste to them soon as I put them in my mouth. They had seasoning on them but I think the purpose of the seasoning was to mask the cheap waxy taste of the fries and it didn't work.
PITA BREAD- All the Pita bread was like almost paper thin and bland, no fluff or flavor to it at all, it was like putting a piece of cardboard in your mouth with humus on it and when they say two breads... they mean half a slice of a whole pita bread cut in half and served as two pieces, not two actual whole slices of pita bread. I don't know what kind of pita it was but I'm not a fan at all.
SPINACH HUMUS- Definitely was delicious by itself, had to ditch the pita bread and use a spoon to fully enjoy it, brought it home and ate it with a few slices of honey wheat bread and Ritz crackers.
RICE- I didn't like the rice at all because as soon as I put it in my mouth it sucked all the moisture out of it. I felt like I was eating cotton balls, the little meat juices or flavor that was on certain spots on the rice didn't help much because it was a lot of rice about 4 cups of it.
MEAT- The meat had great flavor it was juicy but chewy, not tender chewy.... like Meat Gum Chewy. I had to chew those little pieces of meat so much I burned more calories chewing than I actually ate. My cheek felt swollen like POPEYE'S when he's holding his pipe in his mouth. Those pieces of meat wouldn't go down without a fight 🥵
GRILLED VEGGIES- The Grilled veggies weren't grilled, they were big chunks of raw, hard veggies with grill burns on them i couldn't eat them at all. There were 3 chunky pieces of Veggies. One piece was like a chunky 1/4 slice of an Onion, the other was a thick chunk of Zucchini and the third was a chunky piece of Tomato. The chunky grill burn marked tomato slice was okay.
I finished the fries and pieces of meat at work but ended up taking the rest of the meal home after my work shift to fully cook the "Grilled" veggies, season and reheat the rice in order...

Me and Nina#1 got the Mix Grill and the Lamb Arabic Wrap with a Yogurt Drink and a Topo Chico Agua Mineral and it was an AWESOME lunch. The meat was seasoned wonderfully and grilled excellently. Nice crust on the outside but still so moist on the inside. It was served with about a pound of basmati rice, grilled flat bread, pickled veg, French fries, yogurt sauce and grilled onions and tomatoes. Good stuff. The owner also brought us a sample of the pickled eggplant salad. Very tasty.
We then went across the street so I could stuff a DBL Whopper Jr on top of our huge lunch because I promised a customer I would eat one in his honor today. Say whatever you want about me, but I am a...
