This is one of my favorite places in Houston for pupusas. I’m Salvadorian and these pupusas are some of the best I ever had especially when I ask for them to go. They package it not just with the wrapper but aluminum foil and I think that’s what keeps it cheesy/hot (for reference- they don’t do that everywhere and the cheese is already hard/cold when you take it home… not from here though!). The frijol y queso (bean and cheese) is my usual go-to. The chicken one is great as well. Today I went with my friend. She wanted tacos and got the stripped fajita ones with avocado and it was so delicious. I saw Tinga on the menu and really wanted some but also wanted pupusas. I asked if they could make a Tinga pupusa and they accommodated. It was so delicious!! This is one of the many perks of it being a Salvadorian-Mexican restaurant. The menu is extensive. To drink we got some horchatas and an ensalada de fruta “fruit salad” (but it’s a drink. My favorite). My friends LOVED it. Perfect and refreshing for a hot day. The food and service is always so amazing here.

The curtido I recieved from my order today was inedible and rotting. The curtido arrived and I could smell heavy Italian sort of seasoning right away. A very unusual smell for pupusas…Once inside, I discovered the most brown curtido I have ever seen. I knew immediately that it was not prepared fresh, and also close to expiring. They used extra seasoning to cover up the smell of it going bad (and as it is sitting in from of me as I write this review, it smells freezer burned as well). I know we are just recovering from a winter storm here in Houston however, when speaking to the manager, he had an attitude and showed no concern or accountability for serving rotting vegetables. Photos do it no justice, they knew better than to serve this.

Even though I use this road frequently, I had never seen this place. I ordered El Desayuno Especial with a side of Salsa Ranchera (which was $3.99, a little high IMO). My wife had a frijol y queso pupusa. I was satisfied with my meal the plantain was right in point, although my eggs were cooked a little more than I had ordered (over medium). My wife told me that she liked her food as well. We went in first thing in the morning. The bathroom looked and smelled clean. And yes, it is a place that I plan to return to try the other dishes.

Ok so I ordered a fried fish. When I got here I decided I was gonna add some salsa an chips. Cause from what I saw, salsa looked decent. So I thought that's what I was waiting for. After waiting for the cashier to return from waitressing the tables. She returned an asked if I wanted refried beans, cause they didn't have charros. I arrived 25-30 mins after I ordered my food. An waited the same amount of time jus picking up, my food. After that my husband was upset. An told me not to order nothing else, get the fish an leave! I continued to wait while the cashier waited on tables. On people who arrived at the same time I did. Although my order should have been ready. Then when I got in the car, my husband asked if they didn't give him any salsa because I was white or what. So I had to go back in there AGAIN. I asked for salsa. An she didn't want to give me any. An this point I was a little passed upset. Then I finally rudly asked if they don't serve salsa with their plates. She finally gave it to me an I gtfo. Tasted the fish an it jus tasted blan. No flavor in the fish meat. I felt like I was being treated like that cause I look white. IM HISPANIC. I did like that they separated the fish from the fries. Other than...

This has quickly become a regular spot for me and my friends/family.

The food here is excellent, their salsa is smoky and savory, their pupusas are delicious and fresh, and all of their food leaves me (and everyone I've brought here) satisfied and happy!

It's been challenging finding good Salvadoran food around this part of town, but I feel so lucky to have tried this restaurant out. The staff are incredibly friendly, sweet, helpful, kind, and patient whenever I order, and they are quick to get the food to me!

The restaurant is clean, the food is fresh, the meals are delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff are always welcoming. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who has been curious about it- the pupusas and salsa alone are enough to keep me coming back on an almost...
