I really wish I could give Seismique 5 stars because its a great concept that just falls short in a few areas. I’ve been to the color factory so I had high expectations. I’ll start with the good, then the bad to explain why I gave 3 stars.
GOOD Each of the rooms are unique and colorful! It is obvious that there was a lot of thought and effort put into many of these rooms, whether they were more extravagant, or more simple yet fun. The space theme has unique experiences from space pods you can interact with, to rooms DJ spaceship rooms, to rooms filled with light patterns and objects you can interact with to make different things happen! I don’t want to explain them all because they are worth seeing and figuring out for yourself. There is an app you can download with a map to see where you are at any given point. The app also tells you ways to interact with certain rooms which I didn’t find out until about halfway through.
BAD
Overall it’s a really unique interactive exhibit that is fun for a date, group, or family with kids! With options for things to do outside the house being more limited because of Covid, Seismique is worth a visit! Just be prepared to wander around and repeat several...

So let's get into it. Seismique is right off 6 hwy in a shopping mall (everything in Houston is in a shopping mall. Lol). Parking was easy. If you own a Tesla, there are a ton of Tesla chargers right against the entrance on Piping Rock Lane. That is convenient.
As you walk in, it's visually appealing and unique. It has a sort of futuristic, galactic white and black decor. Check in was simple and I purchased my tickets online. Tickets are $30 per child and $37 per adult. Our total was $105.01. In my opinion, that's expensive and you literally don't get anything for that cost except admission. You go to a screen and scan your QR code and then they give you wristbands. I don't see the point of wristbands except to maybe separate VIP from standard though after reading some reviews, the experience is basically the same. Readmission is not allowed.
As we made our journey through, it is visually stunning. Tons of colors, sounds, animations and lights. There is supposedly an app but I couldn't find it. Realistically, you can probably get through the entire tour in about 45m to an hour. It is self-guided. There are a few things you can interact with but not much. A few exhibits scared my youngest toddler who is 3 so be mindful of it if you decide to bring toddlers. There are also lots of flashing lights as well. Most of it my kids did enjoy, however.
There is a gift shop at the end of the tour that we didn't bother with. Speaking of the gift shop, there is an exhibit nearby it with 2 huge chairs (see attached picture). So the first obvious thing I thought of was to put my kids in the chairs and take a picture. Well, the gift shop cashier ran all the way away from his register to tell me that they can't sit in the chairs. That's fine and understandable, but I CAN'T be the only person with that idea. A simple sign would do but there wasn't one.
If you're looking for IG worthy photos and you need to kill an hour with younger kids or just adults, this place will serve its purpose. Just understand you'll be paying a hefty cost for an experience that leaves more...
Read moreExceeded expectations! I was skeptical after reading some reviews plus given the high price tag but decided to go and see for myself. We got there when it opened at noon on Monday, 7/25. Brought my 2 kids: 8 yo boy and 2 yo girl and all 3 of us LOVED IT!!! Very few people around which was great. We played for exactly 2 hours, and I feel as if I got my money’s worth as everything was high quality, well done and captivating. I’d describe it as an interactive art museum and a giant fun house! Definitely gives you a unique and fun experience indoors, which is nice with kids in summer.
My 8 yo is obsessed with lights and buttons so this was paradise for him. My toddler loves running around aimlessly so this was perfect for her. **NOTE that to climb in the net, kids must be wearing socks. We didn’t know that and my boy wasn’t able to do it, which sucked. I wish there had been mention of socks required on their website.
About the price of tickets: $71 including tax for myself and 8 yo. Luckily my 2 yo got in for free. This is more expensive than weekday tickets to Typhoon TX, NASA and Museum of Natural Science 😬 I think it’s a bit overpriced; $25 adults and $20 kids would be more appropriate. Anyways, I think it’s a fun place to go for a special occasion like a birthday, holiday or with out of town guests, etc.
Oh and go visit the bathrooms, the decorations continue in the sinks which was a nice and fun surprise on...
