I’m really getting tired of the POOR management of this place, location!
First off, I’ve been coming to this location since 1999.
And I/we eat at this location often(we also eat at their Eldridge location and we have zero problems there)!
We ate at this location 4 times within the past 6 days and 2 times this week we encountered problems!
A couple of nights ago we ate there and I had a salad to go too(like I always order) and the person who made it decided to DRENCH it with the dressing on it(first time dressing was ever put on a to go salad)!
So to eat the next day the drenched dressing ruined it!
Now, today 1/9/2025, I called in a togo order and for like 13 minutes NO ONE ever answered the phone,, then a guy’s voice who I never heard before finally answered and he asked me to hold on and then he never came back, then the manager got on to take my order but by this time I was pulling into the parking lot of the restaurant.
I went ahead and I ordered with him and then went inside to pay.
I also ask for extra dressing for my salad because this location especially doesn’t offer enough of it so I requested 3 extra dressings today for the 3 togo salads I ordered and the “manager” let me know I would have to pay and extra $2.37 for the 3?!
I’ve never had to pay any extra $ for extra dressing before?!
But, for me this manager was/is CLASSLESS!!!
Who has zero respect for any GREAT repeat customers, obviously!
And he knew I had been placed on hold way too long and then he gauges me for extra $ for extra dressing!
And what gets me extra today is the dressing came in the micro sizes today, usually one container is double the size of the micro size I got today so technically I got screwed on the paying for the extra dressing!
And trust me it’s not the measly $2.37 BUT for the BS smaller, micro size I was not given.
For a $15.00 salad(which went up a lot just the last few years), it’s really CHEAP of LM to not want to give and appropriate amount of dressing!
And FYI Eldridge location generously supplies enough dressing!
FYI Eldridge location APPRECIATES their loyal/repeat customers unlike this location!
We live between both locations but our daughter’s school is a block away from this location so it’s more convenient at times to go to this location BUT in the future I’m going to do my best to mainly/only go to Eldridge location!
And to LM in general!
Myself like a lot of other people HATE your new rewards BS system!
You had it right the first time, simply scan a simple app and get your rewards!

Read moreFor many years my friends, family and I have chosen this place to meet in gatherings, talks and at the same time taste their pleasures. The place is nice although sometimes in the afternoons it becomes noisy, because they have areas for events or meetings and it is full of clients, but I still recommend this place to go and have a good time with your friends and family. . I do not consider it a place for children, but they can also attend. They can be seen in the afternoons clients with their laptops, agendas and other work tools, this makes it a meeting place for business people and other leisures. The food has a unique and fresh touch, the soups are incredible, they have no precedent, I recommend the tomato-basil is somewhat slimy but tasty on the palate. The breads also have good taste. Not to mention the desserts, the lemon-based creams, the black chocolate that is used is unique and the fruit cake makes this place a place to go for a coffee or tea and taste their desserts, with that you are already happy ! The only problem with La Madelaine is the prices, sometimes they are exaggerated, a small soup can cost you up to $ 4 dollars and the fruit salad is expensive. Not to mention the drinks, the the or coffee can be expensive. For me, who have been visiting this place for more than 5 years, these prices have been increasing. But the quality is the same. There was a very famous dessert called: Ann's Cake, the customers loved it, some people only came for this dessert, it was removed from the menu without any explanation. In summary, it is a place where you can have a good time, eat well and be at ease. The work team is very attentive and there is a lady who is a historical figure of this place, always attends you at the salad station and although she is very old, she always strives to provide a good service, they should reward her. Read moreI visited the cafe today and I was surprised of how bad the service was. We ordered a cappuccino and an ice latte. The waitress brought the ice latte and I asked for the straw which makes sense as I don’t really know how she was expecting me to drink the ice latte without the straw!!!! She pointed me to the opposite side of the restaurant and asked me to go get the straw from there then she walked away. I was stunned !!!! If I’m asking for something extra then maybe I would say it’s a self service like extra sugar or something like that. But a straw for an ice latte in a plastic cup which can not be drunk from without a straw is something should have brought. I really hated it and hated the way she seems that she doesn’t care and pointed me out to get up and go get the straw from the opposite side of the restaurant. I would give this cafe a zero star and I hope that people don’t accept such service when they come to this place!!! NEVER AGAIN. If management cares she would never do that to customers but it’s obvious that these behaviours start...
