This is definitely one of the better conventions that I've been to over the years despite is size. It's a small anime and videogame convention (a friend con) with dedicated staff and lots of fun activities. If you want to just hang out the lobby at the front and the lounge area near the side entrance have a ton of couches for relaxing. They also usually have an anime viewing room and a manga reading room which are nice if you're feeling overwhelmed and need some time to decompress in a quiet area. Much appreciated btw. They also have a video gaming area and a tabletop gaming area. The panels are usually pretty fun as well and they run all day. If you're staying on site you can usually catch a late night panel up until 2am and jump right back in around 9 or 10 am. The vendors hall and artist alley are with no exception, full of awesome merchandise with a great variety to choose from. My only gripe is that they placed the voice actors in the back of the ball room with the most icky fluorescent yellow greenish lighting. It makes for absolutely horrible pictures that not even photo editing could save decently. I wish they would move that location back to where they used to be a few years ago (in the conference room that was used for the artist alley this year.) The lighting is a lot better in there since you also have windows pouring in natural light from the outside. Other than that, it's a nice con. Will be going back next year and hopefully more people will show up as well.

Small con with plenty of potential to grow. Making plans to attend next year's con. You don't have to be a nerd to know your way thru these waters. Just jump in and waddle around a little!

The con was fantastic. The people running it were very helpful. My only issue is the venue. Please find another hotel next year. The location was bad. The carpet in the dealers room was so filthy, you couldn't see the carpet through the stains. Needing a wheelchair, I used the ramp in the lobby. That area smelled like stale urine. The very last panel we went to was in room 3, right by the ramp. That entire room smells of stale urine. Disgusting. ...

Ok I might be bias because I am on staff. But it is probably the best anime con in Houston. Gaming we need to work a bit harder on but. We do have path finder, dnd, and a 24hr arcade. I wish we had more people running pannels. But that is up to you the convention guest to decide to...
