We had a first experience with the Happy Hour" drinks (and food) for a birthday ; and it was..."eh;" as the Happy Hour menu was limited (didn't know this until I asked if the menu that I had was the HH menu but learned that it was the wrong menu...good thing that we didn't order from it; as the pricing may have been very different). I ordered a "Godfather"🥃- which is a norm for me when visiting and ordering from a new place. The pricing was twice the normal due to pricing separately instead of in the same glass (though I paid it 💪 ..but my normal tipping reflected the overpricing ...sorry, Daisy....next time, ok 👌👈💥😎). Overall, I give a 4- rating because I'm not insensitive; and the "Happy Hour" is a relatively new function; so, that's it. 👍

👍 The bar and restaurant is located inside Hotel Icon, which is conveniently located in Historic Downtown Houston. 👎 Links leading to Line & Lariat are broken on the hotel's website, and there doesn't appear to be an easy way to acquire menu information using the website. 👍 No reservation is needed, and walk-in customers are welcome. 👍 They serve a meat and cheese plate that is great for sharing. 👍 The best drink I sampled is semi-sweet and presented with a smoky layer (pictured). The smoke adds flavor, which brings forth memories of camping in the woods. Unfortunately, I can't recall the name and it's not on any of the menus available on 3rd-party websites.

Place was dead on a Saturday night, but it was nice to walk right in, sit at the bar, and get instant service. Cocktails were good, staff was great, handed us a book of building history, offered pretzel/nut snacks. Didn't eat, but menu looked decent for downtown. Would totally drop in for a drink again, might even enjoy a quiet meal sometime. That's another note, it's quiet; very low background music, no echoy surfaces.

Hands down just excellent! We had our very first date here and I picked the place because of a certain Malbec they had. I informed the host that it was a special evening and man did they go above and beyond! They took my card before so there was no question of who got to pay at the end, I didn't have time to pick up flowers so they offered me a few from their vase in the back, I had wrapped a present and like clock work the server tacitly brought it out at desert just as I had instructed!

As I mentioned I picked the place based on a wine, however when it came time to bring it out, they had just sold the last bottle! So the manager extended their apologies and offered another bottle and was kind enough to give a discount on the bottle to make up for the hiccup.

Our service was divine, our food was great, the atmosphere romantic and calm just like I had asked for. This place holds a special place in my heart because of how much attention to detail they paid to my wants and needs. With their help our first date was a knockout! I mean, afterall we are just about to celebrate another...

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! Wish I would have read the other reviews before I decided to have dinner here... my experience was very similar. The service was extremely slow (2 hours) and there were only 5 other tables. Then on a $98 check for two people the restaurant added on $14 for gratuity. No wonder the service is slow and no one cares. They get there money! Then, if all of that wasn't bad enough, the hotel manager said they "validate parking". She wrote on my ticket & stapled it to my receipt... Only to get out to the valet attendant and have him argue that we owed him $12. After another trip in to talk to the hotel manager and some trash talking from the valet, we ended up paying $6 for parking (which by the way is not listed as a price on the posted sign). It was an all around bad experience. To make matters even worse... right across the street is Hearsay Gastro which would NEVER do any of the things...

Disappointed, we really wanted to like it. Terrible food and subpar service. We had been here before when it was the voice restaurant. We liked it before and thought it was a good idea to make reservations to celebrate our anniversary here. Wrong choice. Upon arrival, we stood and waited for 10 minutes before the bartender told us to sit ourselves. The bartender didn’t ask us for our drink order and served water. It took twenty minutes before she took out order. I had the Chicken Rositto, and my husband had the steak and scallops. Both the chicken and beef (medium) was very dry. Getting the bill and paying was quick. We asked if parking was complimentary or validated and they said check with the hotel front desk. We asked the front desk and they told us the bar had to validate it. After the ten minute go around, the restaurant manager validated the parking. The restaurant has potential but, no where close to good...
