Magnolia Tavern — Restaurant in Houston

I was there on 02/10 I’m only giving it a 1 star because a 18% gratuity was added for just 2 people tab after we had been tipping cash all night . We noticed this after getting our bill when my husband still tried to tip another 20.00 but that’s when I noticed 22 dollars was added for tip . I did speak to a guy he gave us the 20.00 extra tip back in cash . It’s now Friday and the pre with for 176.00 is still pending and I also have an additional 70 charge on my account that is processed . So on my account it’s a total of $422.00 , my original bill was 120.00 something . My bank says it’s not then it’s the bar that has to complete or end the pre authorization (close out) idk . I’ll be trying to call the bar again today . Other than this a real cool vibe I would return but will use cash only . Very unpleasant...

I think the atmosphere is what I liked most about the Magnolia Tavern. There are TVs everywhere, so you don’t have to crane your neck much to watch a few games. Its location is pretty central in EnDo. The servers were upbeat and engaged and very attentive, even though it was somewhat busy with people watching football games. The food was above average for a sports bar, but nothing memorable or anything. Overall, we had a good time there, and I would recommend it to friends looking for a good-service sports bar...
