29Nov2023; had not gone in months here as quite honestly other build it assembly line pizzas are better. Mod has the advantage of proximity to where I was when I got hungry. Given the choice of burgers nearby or pizza my wife chose pizza. She had been asking me to take her here for a while.
Well I was right, there is a reason I haven’t been in a while. It just tasted gross! Got a pepperoni and hamburger pizza with pesto sauce, same as I get everywhere else. The person preparing mine tossed the empty bottle of pesto on a tray behind her after preparing mine. No idea how long that had been left out. The crust was pressed fresh as we watched and since it cooks and rises no concerns there with freshness. When I got it though, whew! Tasted old and rancid. The hamburger balls seemed to be the worst part of it.
The fountain soda machine was dispensing straight syrup! While that might be cool if you want a sugar rush it is not great for washing down gross pizza with. Told the employee standing there and took five minutes to convince him that the soda was out. Not sure if they fixed it before we left or not. Arrived at 1PM on a Wednesday and seemed like six tables occupied. No wait in line – that should have clued me in. Only three employees working which one would think is light for a lunch hour. I did see their special needs employee eating later though so count it as four total.
Felt sick on the way home. Ended up downing a good dose of the pink medicine to counteract the nausea that this stuff caused. So note to self and others; if there is no line at lunch there...
Read moreI honestly enjoy MOD pizza so much but this experience made me never want to ever go back. The manager is very rude , and I was being very respectful honestly too so I didn’t understand why I was getting so much back lash for wanting my pizza remade. My pizza came out spicy instead of sweet and savory. One of the employees accidentally put buffalo sauce on my pizza instead of BBQ and I didn’t realize it until after I bit my first slice. So I took it back up there and he said “I’m not understanding what the problem is” I just said sir my pizza is spicy and I don’t like it. I get the same thing every time so it should not be spicy. He kept going back and fourth with me like he didn’t want to remake my pizza and then I wanted a refund and he did not want to give me that either ! So he remakes and it is still not to my liking at all . The reason for that is because as I’m going down the line he’s literally rushing me and speaking to me like I’m wasting his time when there is literally only one other person in the restaurant with us. I didn’t even get to add my last ingredients I wanted by the time I looked up he was putting it in the oven. Overall this was the worst mod pizza I ever went to , the manager is very lazy and rude. I’m mad I even wasted my money on that. Thank you to the young man who looked at my pizza too when I tried to tell the manager about buffalo sauce on my pizza and it being spicy because you could clearly see it on there when I specifically asked for bbq sauce...
Read moreI don't understand the excitement some have over Mod Pizza. I got the "Maddy" which is plain & simple: Crust, tomato sauce, mozzarella. It was maybe $2-$3 worth of ingredients. Fully loaded or not so loaded costs the same at Mod. BTW, it is amazing how they can stretch 2½ oz of tomato sauce to cover the entire pizza. Mod's crusts are baking powder (to give it a little puff) thin. Thin like paper. Kind of on a par with the cheap frozen pizza's you buy at the grocery store. The place was not that busy when I walked in on a Thursday night. But the Pizza came out burned (not a shock when you start with ultra thin crust!). I don't think the guy running the oven was paying much attention to which pizzas went in first. I think he was distracted as he & the girl that slices the pizza appeared to be flirting. And get this, the little metal tag they stick on the pizza to identify yours from the rest in the oven, left a little charred, black rectangle on the top of the pizza! One of the topping girls had a bad cough, but she was kind and left the line to cough. I suppose any virus germs that dropped on the pizzas would be more than incinerated in the hot oven anyway, so no big deal. I just don't see the enthusiasm that some have for overpriced Mod Pizza at this location or any...
