First time ever to this place. You order at the counter and you pay at the counter and when you pay the the first thing that comes up is how much you want to tip. How would I know how much I want to tip when all I’ve done is order my food at the counter. I don’t like to tip before I get my food I like to see how the services and how the food is. So that was a turn off.. they also add a dollar for being a local business to stay open to contribute to the cost of the to go containers and napkins and stuff like that. I guess that also was a turn off. I didn’t notice that until I read the paper menu when I sat down, I think they should include prices for containers and cups and such in the price of the item you’re buying.

I had the barbecue pork sandwich it was good. I also ordered pork fried rice with the pineapple which $16 or $17 seemed kind of pricey for an order of fried rice. I had to ask them to include some soy sauce and some hoisin sauce for the rice for when I got home since I only want the fried rice to take home and I ate the sandwich there. The fried rice was OK. It had red and bell green peppers in it. I’ve never had pork fried rice that had bell peppers in it. It made it have a different taste than I was used to, but not in a good way. I probably will never go back because I don’t go to Houston that often but if I do, I’ll get it without the bell peppers and I want to pay $17 for fried rice and nine dollars for sandwich.

I don’t see the point of chipping before you get your food because the person who took the order at the register didn’t even bring the sandwich or the rice out . I drank water and you have to get up and get it yourself, so what exactly are you tipping for before you actually get your food and be served. a waitress for many years tip means to ensure prompt service or to ensure proper service. How would you know what kind of service you get if you have to tip when you pay before you get your food.

Basically, I spent $25 for one sandwich and an order of pineapple pork fried rice. They should cut the pineapple up smaller it was too big...

Nam Eatery is an absolute gem in the Heights and a must-visit for anyone craving fresh, flavorful Vietnamese cuisine in the neighborhood. Conveniently, they offer a few private parking spots out front shared with the neighboring business. The restaurant itself has a laid-back vibe—order at the counter, take a number, and find a spot while they prepare your meal.

Everything is made from scratch, and you can truly taste the difference in each dish. Their menu is packed with Vietnamese classics, including a variety of pho, banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches), vermicelli bowls, and more.

[PHO]

+Pho Tofu for $13 - I love the pho here, and this is the one I order almost every time. It’s perfect when you’re feeling under the weather, during cold days, or whenever you’re just craving something comforting and satisfying. - 5/5

Nam Eatery has earned its reputation as a neighborhood favorite for good reason—every meal feels like a home-cooked masterpiece, served with care and flavor. I would highly recommend checking...

I have a weakness for Vitenamese food. Tonight, I shared a delicious Pho Thai and a filet mignon bánh mì with my husband at Nam Eatery. We also had steamed dumplings. The whole food was minimal fat and very tasty. Actually the large portion of Pho was perfectly equilibrated in terms of broth/herbs/spices. We ordered and paid at the counter before choosing our table. The service was fast and the staff very courteous and very discreet. No Vietnamese music. It was a quiet ambiance and we had a pleasant conversation. The place is very clean and despite it is small, every customer can eat peacefully. The decor has a modern touch with its mid century inspiration metallic chairs. Certain walls have been covered with beautifully executed monochrome frescoes. Cảm ơn for this simple, but...
