Usually when I come to resturant. I normally see how attentive they are toward the customer. Apparently the place is really hot and uncomfortable when you want to eat inside. The food is good but it makes really uncomfortable to eat your food when it is hot outside and inside. I came in the store and ordered my food. I didnt know if the lady spoke that well english becuase when I asked for a drink she just said the they had cola and pointed where they were, so I said yes. So when I went to go get a drink, my food came. The man said the drinks were 2 dollars so I didn't say anything and ate my food knowing she had charged me. So when I finished and was about to leave the man chased me down and said I had to pay the 2 dollar drink. Then I told him she already charged me. So he said wait and let me see. It came out she did not charge me. I kind of got upset. First I thought she charged me at least she should knew I wanted a drink. Second the place is really hot to eat inside. It's hotter inside then outside. Third, i am not there to scam them for a 2 dollar drink. At least they should of been nice and tried to say I apologize we didn't charge you for the drink. First time customers will always determine if they will come back the second time but with all this I don't think it's going to be a...
Read moreI came to this place out of curiosity for Liang Pi noodles. I'm not too familiar with this cuisine other than I tried dry cold noodles from Xing's Kitchen (which was delicious btw). My noodles were brought out promptly to the table and I was advised of adding chili oil on the noodles to my liking. The thick flat noodles had a nice chewy texture and the bean sprouts, wheat gluten, and cucumbers provide that extra textural element to the dish holistically. The base sauce for the noodles hit u with its deep sesame and vinegar flavor in addition to the fragrance/crispness of the complementary chili oil. Overall I liked the noodle dish, but i feel like adding protein (like the meat used in their Chinese hamburger) would take this dish up a notch. Authentic!
Notes: the restaurant sign does not say Northern Pasta in front of the store. There's a picture in Yelp that shows the actual sign of the store you can buy frozen dumplings and steamed buns that are ready...
Read moreThe food is good, but be prepared for a long wait during busy weekends. I visited on Juneteenth Saturday (June 21) and arrived at 9:50 a.m. It took 15 minutes just to place my order, and another 25 minutes before my food was served. There were only two staff working—one managing the front and prepping delivery orders, and one serving the dining area.
The restaurant seems seriously understaffed during peak hours, and the service flow could use improvement. From what I observed, they tend to fully prepare and serve all items for one group before moving on to the next. A more efficient approach would be to prepare and serve items in smaller batches, rotating between groups in the order of arrival, rather than completing one group’s entire order before even starting the next.
Overall, I’d recommend the food, but only if you’re not in a rush and are visiting during...
