Came here on my last day in Houston to celebrate with a group of friends and share one final karaoke night together. Unfortunately, there were multiple problems.
First, the karaoke sound system wasn’t working properly. It kept blasting at full volume and hurting our ears. Some of my friends had to leave early because it wasn’t fun. Using YouTube for songs made queuing awkward, and when we asked the staff for help with the audio, they weren’t helpful or didn’t seem to care. Other rooms were open, and switching rooms might have been a solution, but that wasn’t offered. We ended up spending most of our two hours trying to fix the sound and navigate YouTube ourselves. It felt like wasted time with an apathetic staff.
Second, we had come in a few days earlier on Thursday to check out the rooms. A staff member recommended the medium room for our group of 12–15 and said it was $70 per hour. She even encouraged and suggested us to bring up to 20 people. Since it was my last day, I invited a few more friends and we ended up with 20 people total. At no point were we told there would be an additional charge for that.
Then, the manager tried to charge me $100 per hour for having 20 people, saying it counted as a "VIP" group even though we were in a smaller room, not the extra-large "VIP" room. We would’ve been happy to book that larger room, but it wasn’t available at our preferred time.
I was shocked. Not only was our karaoke experience frustrating and disappointing due to the sound issues, but now they were asking me to pay more? Most places would have been accommodating or at least understanding, maybe even offering a discount since we barely got to sing. Instead, we were charged extra.
I’ve been to many karaoke places and lived in Korea for 3–4 years, so I’ve had plenty of amazing karaoke experiences. Sadly, I can’t recommend this one. If you're looking for a great Korean karaoke spot, I suggest checking out Bar.Kor.D or One Shot Pocha instead. My friends were really disappointed, and I doubt any of us will be back. I’m honestly heartbroken that my goodbye party ended on such a sour note, we couldn’t even make a good final...
Read moreWalking in you get a sense of incompetent micromanagement. The male employees are fully clothed in suits but they force the women to wear incredibly skanky outfits. All female employees had the uniform of a skirt that's too short and tight, and a strappy shirt that doesnt fit because it's too small. They deserve to be treated better.
The men manage the front of house and are aggressively incompetent. They threw us in a room and barely explained anything to just one person. We all had questions and orders and employees would keep walking away. When asked about how to control the systems they were dismissive and kept walking away while we were talking to them. One employee I asked a question twice and they walked out of the room, so I followed them. The employee was visibly irritable that we were still asking questions. I asked for water and they said it's already in the room - I said yes, we poured all of that already, can you please bring two jugs of water to the room? They said sure then refused to listen everytime I tried to ask a question since then. We still dont have more water.
When we were setting up and asking about the Korean system, they refused to tell us how to use it. We've been to karaoke a lot but this guy would NOT tell us anything. They said it was broken, don't use it, but we were actively setting up songs with it while he was talking. He gave up and finally set it up for us and gave us the controls for it. We are still trying to find remotes and get things set up, an employee walked in the room just close the door on us and didnt listen to any questions we had.
On top of all this, the sound and equipment quality are terrible. There is more sharp feedback than I have EVER heard in a karaoke room. Several times we were shouting "shut off the mic!" And "oh the system disconnected"
Regarding the environment, the table was dirty when they showed us into the room, there's a broken mirror in the restroom, and again, they still haven't served us the drinks we've asked for.
Definitely not worth trying a new place. We'll keep going to KTV...

Amazing Korean American restaurant that has quickly become a standout in our vibrant culinary scene. Located in the bustling Beltway 8/Bellaire Chinatown area, the gastropub boasts an amazing location that is easily accessible and offers a delightful ambiance perfect for both casual outings and special occasions.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality from Sam the GM and his very well trained waitstaff and a chic, modern decor. The seating is typical of Korean Gastropub ambience of having an industrial feel provided with a cozy yet spacious dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal! I am Korean and I am very picky about my food. The food was really good not too salty not catering towards American tongue and it was really really really delicious. The menu is a perfect fusion of Korean and American flavors, offering a unique and delightful array of dishes. The service was impeccable throughout the evening. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations.
