Pizza was good. Two stars for that. Zero stars for service. Consider, if you will, a Friday night out with a buddy. I ordered a large pepperoni and sausage for pickup and was told to get it in 30. Great, that works for getting a pizza to take to Brash. I arrive 30-ish minutes later and I'm told it's still in the oven. OK. Another 15 or so minutes later and I check with them -- not ready yet, but they try to expedite it. Fine, I guess. A free bottle of water, two free slice of pizza cards, and another 15-ish minutes later, and the oven guy (who seems to also be a driver?) comes over to verify who I am and my order -- and is he talking with the two on the line to try to expedite? Whatever, I'm already invested by this point. About 10 minutes later, he comes back and gives me two medium pizzas. I say that's not what I ordered, but he said something about running out of large dough. Well, alright. Pizza acquired, now I can have beer with my buddy, who was patiently waiting at the brewery.
So, they did try to make it right, even though it looked like multiple orders got mixed up or lost. There are a lot of other good options for pizza in this area, though -- so if this is what it's normally like, I don't understand how Pink's can keep this up. Please consider keeping the C-Team off the weekend shift, this approach is not good...
Read moreFor a change of pace from the usual veggie pizza, we tried the Mediterranean - we ordered it on Slice. We wanted some marinara on it and we didn't want the chicken. So we marked that in the order form and put please no chicken in the notes...Guess what...got NO marinara and lots of terrible, chicken-McNugget-like rubbery horrible chicken. Like even if I liked chicken, that chicken was terrible. Dry as a bone, there's no way around it. The pizza couldn't recover. It was bad. Don't use Slice, just call them, that system sucks. I'll give Pink's more business, but I'll be more careful. I'll probably need to talk to one of the people up front. Although, come to think of it, those girls up front seemed surprised when I asked for a pizza - in a pizza place. Seriously...they were like - "Now WHAT did you order..." and I was like - "A pizza...for Brian." They didn't seem to have any idea it was sitting literally two feet from them. The whole thing looks bad for what's always been a great restaurant and tells me that Pinks is starting to lose their edge...they're making bad pizzas and doing it poorly. And that's a shame because we've been eating there for years...is this the beginning of the end? Maybe...probably not. But it's super...
Read moreI thought I would stop by on my way home from work today and pick up a pizza for me and my kids. I called this location and asked the guy who answered, "is this the garden oaks location?" He said it's the one on shepherd and 34th. So I guess he doesn't know the neighborhood, but that is Garden Oaks. I ordered my usual, half extra sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, and jalapeños, And half pepperoni. You would think I had asked for 30 different things. It took a lot of back-and-forth but he and whoever he was talking to finally got it down. Five minutes later, he told me it would be about 30 minutes, and took down my name. On the way home from work I stopped in. I was early but I thought I'd check on the status. I waited a while and somebody finally came upfront and asked me what I wanted. I said I had placed an order. They asked if it was online or by phone. I said by phone. I gave them my name, and when they couldn't find it they asked if I didn't call the wrong pizza place. I showed them the number I have dialed on my phone. They still couldn't find my name. Then they asked me if maybe I had used another name. No, I know my name. This was ridiculous. Since they couldn't find me, I said...
