I unfortunately can't return here - I believe I got scammed and they didn't care to correct the overcharge when I confronted them about it.
Food - Not too bad. Pro: The beef bahn mi sandwich was pretty good. Con: Their fruit green tea was too sweet; there are just a few places where I have to ask for half sweet, this would be one of them.
Service - Very dishonest as a business. Just moved into the area to find a new spot to frequent, it was my first time visiting and I was the only customer there. I saw a sign on the door saying during certain hours there was a Lunch Special for boba + a food. I put in my order and paid, and as I looked at the sign on my way out again, and saw they charged me full price. I walked back in to ask what the Lunch Special included (if I ordered wrong?), they said "Oh you would have had to tell us first it would be for the Lunch Special, we put it in the system differently." Maybe it was my fault for not walking back out to double check their price, but a customer shouldn't have to "remind" a business about their lunch special...
I lost $6, another full meal's worth. And both the young woman and what looked like a manager (older woman) didn't do anything about it. Little do they know I am a tea/boba tea promoter, and they just lost what would have been a regular customer.
[UPDATE] Regarding their reply - I still have never had to tell a place I’m their for their happy hour, it did not specify that in their advertising as an exception to the rule, all businesses can offer refunds (I was in the food industry), and if they didn’t want to do that, I could have been offered store credit. There were ways to fix the discrepancy and they didn’t make...
Read moreI highly recommend Poppin Tea! My girlfriend and daughter from out of town were visiting and wanted a beverage so we googled and discovered this place in the area of their hotel. I've only tried this type of beverage at another franchise only once and didn't really like it. However I was willing to try it again.
The owner took great care of us, recommend menu items based on ingredients we preferred, was very knowledgeable about the product and ingredients and considered my friends daughters' certain allergies. I live on the North side of Houston and I told the owner..after such great beverage, service and friendly atmosphere here I'm willing to drive the distance on Westhiemer. My drink she made for me was PERFECT, DELICIOUS and we had a pleasant dine in visit. Thank you and congratulations on starting your new business and we wish you BIG SUCCESS in entrepreneurship. I support small business 💯! I'll be back...
Read moreCozy, Friendly, and Great for a Quick Stop I recently discovered Popping Tea, and it’s such a charming little coffee and tea shop! The space is clean, neat, and has a friendly neighborhood vibe — the kind of place where you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. It’s also a great spot to do some commuter work, with a peaceful atmosphere that’s not too noisy.
One thing I really appreciated was their afternoon happy hour deal, usually around 2 to 3:30 PM. For about $9, you can grab a milk tea combo that comes with a small snack — perfect if you’re looking for a light midday treat.
I tried the caramel mocha frappuccino on my first visit. While I wouldn’t say it’s quite on Starbucks’ level, it came close and definitely hit the spot. Overall, it’s a cute little place worth stopping by if you’re in the area and want something quick, casual, and satisfying.
I’ll definitely be back to try more...
