Sams Deli Diner is a comforting and delicious throwback to staple American classics from Burgers and Fries to milkshakes and root beer floats. The cafe pays homage to the many high schools in the area, bringing a sense of community throughout the eating space as patrons share stories of their days roaming the halls. Most of all, the food is excellent with juicy, mouth watering and very filling burgers made to perfection. Best to save some room for desert as the milkshakes are hand spun, made with fresh ingredients and mixed with Blue Bell ice cream. One of my coworkers got a cookies and cream shake which he stated was a great way to end a meal. If you are feeling nostalgic or just looking for a tasty burger to try out in Houston, definitely head to Sam's Deli Diner.

Nice sized parking lot for the strip. The inside space is pretty large, although over half the tables had chairs blocking them. Per the signage, they are having staffing difficulties. It's 100% counter service (Order at the counter, collect your food from the counter, clear the table when you are done). The lady taking orders was very friendly. There was music playing, but it was at a low level so it was easy to have a conversation. The food seemed priced fairly. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of seasoned fries. All of the food tasted pretty good. Seems like a pretty good spot for lunch.

The food was very unsavory. The burger was overcooked and bland. The serviec and kitchen crew was older which in a place like this is usually a good thing because they stick with what works and not trendy ideas. However, what they stuck with was a tradition of squeezing all the juice out of the burger patty and serving it dry. The place was very clean but there was construction occurring next door which was unpleasant to listen to. Not next door as you would think but construction was separated by a black tarp like material in the same space. I will not return.

Sams Deli Diner is a Spring Branch staple establishment. I love Sams deli diner! They make the absolute best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had. They are nothing fancy, no frills, just very very good. We love the cheeseburgers, kids burgers, seasoned fry baskets, chicken tenders, grilled chicken sandwiches, and the grilled cheese sandwiches!!! They also have great breakfast too! I have been going to Sams Deli my entire life (starting at the old location before the Katy Freeway renovation) and now I am lucky enough to be able to bring my son there as well. Where else can you get a milkshake made with blue Bell ice cream?! The staff is the best, very friendly and personable people who know the names of the regulars, and take care of everyone like family. I’ve been going to Sams Deli for 30 years and hope to continue to go for another 30 more. If you go during busy times, there will be a bit of a wait, but you can’t rush perfection! Call ahead orders are good for lunchtime if you’re in a rush, but if you have time, place your order, get your drink, and sit down and watch the masters at work. 🥰 1000 out of 10, would...

I have gone to this restaurant for years and to see them pretty much in their demise is sad. For starters, I don't understand why they don't call themselves Sam's Club Diner. A good majority of their food and meat comes from Sam's Club. I saw a "Clearance" sticker on the milk that they were making milkshakes with that appeared expired. They leave their Sam's Club meat stay out to thaw next to the grill and it's just simply mismanaged. The place is half the size it used to be, which makes their single register line block any sort of passing through the restaurant. I have stopped going here as of a little over 6 months ago and thought I would share my concerns. People think this place is great but it's NOT anymore. It's pushing an episode of Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmare. $11.95 Milkshakes, $15+ Burgers with NO FRIES or DRINK included. Sysco just opened down the street, maybe they'll stop closing early do go find the most discounted cheap stuff around and go to Sysco for wholesale...

Great food. Nice staff. Sometimes the staff chat with customers sitting on stools at the counter. Far more choices of burgers and sandwiches here than you get at nationwide corporate chains. Plus, your choices are not limited to what's printed/posted on the menu. I came for breakfast, but did not see what I wanted on the menu. When I asked, they were more than willing to make an omelette with tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, no meat, and no cheese. Cost me $11.60. All omelettes are 3-egg. No doubt, you could get Swiss instead of American cheese, if you want. Coffee is a bargain at $1.95 for a soda-fountain size cup, with a free refill. The only possible improvement they could make (not complaining) would be to put some pictures on the bare wall (opposite side from the grill, counter, stools, register, etc.). No Wi-Fi here, but free Xfinity Wi-Fi is somewhere nearby very close. I'll come back again for lunch someday, like all the...
