Ordered from them for the first time tonight. Impulse order that I'm glad occured. Ordered at 9:00pm and they close at 10:00pm. Order arrived before the estimated time frame. Food was packaged perfectly and sealed inside very nice and sturdy paper bags. The food was pippin hot and absolutely delicious! The Singapore chow mein and house special lo mein were some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered the jalapeno chicken just out of curiosity and I'm glad I did. This will now be my go to Chinese restaurant for delivery.
Edit - went from 5 star to 1 star. Ordered on 1/14/24 and what we received doesn't even seem to be from the same restaurant. Lo mein had no color and no sauce. Hunan beef had an off color to it and absolutely no spice and no flavor. I'm not kidding, it tasted like warm boiled beef that was left out on the counter for a while. General tso chicken was disappointing as well. Seems like they just used sweet and sour breaded chicken leftovers and tossed them in tso sauce. Yeah they gave me free crab puffs but I wish they could take them back and instead give me what I ordered. I called the restaurant and explained what just happened. He mentioned that they are busy. Well perhaps they should slow down and put out quality food instead of sending out low quality and flavorless food. They lost a customer. I spent close to $70 and I regret it. Food prices have risen everywhere and there's is no room for mediocrity in today's market with these prices. Save your hard earned money and...
Read moreMan, worst experience I have ever had at a Chinese restaurant. I’ve had some bad Chinese food in the past, but this one was the absolute worst. I ordered the Orange Chicken lunch menu version. The soup came out and was ok. When the main meal came the egg roll was hot but mushy at the same time. But when I tasted the chicken it was cool not just the chicken but the sauce as well. I asked the waiter quietly So I would not let Anyone around me hear and affect their judgement to bring me some chicken that was hot. He rolled his eyes and said that next time I need to order my order spicy. I said sir that’s not what I mean. I just want some hot food. Can you bring some. He said on the side and I said yes. He then brought over the chili paste. I said not what I meant he walked away and I thought he ordered more chicken hot to bring. I didn’t care about how spicy just temperature hot. I waited and I picked a little on the rice making sure I saved room for the meal when it comes back. I picked a little more. Then he brought the check. I said I now have to pay for a meal that I took one bite of, an egg roll and soup not to mention 3 bites of rice. I did raise my voice a little but only because he kept telling me I have to order that way. I said how to be hot food you served me cold food. Anyway it was bad. I paid my 9.99 plus tax and even left a tip.
But I will never be back and I will tell as many people I can to stay away from...
Read moreShanghai Inn is a great hole in the wall restaurant! The interior is nice and the atmosphere is casual. The restaurant is large enough to seat several families (including the beloved grandparents). The employees are both attentive and amiable!
The menu has many options including lunch specials and customizable plates. The best part? The food is authentic! I know this because the restaurant is owned by a Chinese family. In addition, the portions are surprisingly large for the prices. On Sundays, they even have a buffet from 11 am to 3 pm. My mother and I love having a Sunday brunch at this place after mass.
My one and only issue is that delivery is unfortunately after 5 pm. However, my way of thinking is if this place is on the way home from work, why not call ahead and pick up my food? The food will be fresh and I can enjoy authentic Chinese food in the comfort of my home! What's not to love?!
My personal favorite dishes are chicken fried rice, shrimp with lobster sauce, and any type of lo mein. My family also loves their crab puffs and enjoys...
