I was a little reluctant at first to give a 5 star. I did so because I do like Subway and the sandwiches were fresh. However I've noticed that some walk up counter businesses are now asking for a tip such as Subway on credit card check out. In my opinion and others...tips are reserved for businesses that give a much more intimate personal service such as a haircut or real table service with a waiter that spends 'way more time serving a customer at a table. Asking for a 15% tip+ for making a 3 minute sandwich is pretty hefty! Having 3 category choices would be more appropriate... #1) 'Maximum of a 5% tip ie...( based on 'time you spend with each sandwich made =a 0.45 cent tip per sandwich based on a $9 receipt ). #2) 'Other--Let the client decide #3) 'No Tip. I don't doubt that Subway employees work hard but they do in the grocery stores, the mall, and just about in every other business on the planet. Personally I don't think it's acceptable asking in the first place for a tip based that Subway employees are not waiters/waitresses who make a mere $2.+ per hour who spend up to an hour waiting on a single client Plus some Hairdressers are on commission that barely equal minimum wage and a haircut takes an average of 20-30 minutes + to cut one client. Sorry but Subway counter service is not table service at a restaurant. What's next--grocery store employees asking for a tip to check a customer out? This is getting...
Read moreBEWARE!!! WORST SUBWAY BRANCH EVER!!! First time we've been to this one. We ordered 2 subs online, and when we went to pick them up, the restaurant was FILTHY with food over some tables. We then walked to the counter to pick the order. My wife also bought a gift-card for $20 for a friend. I then pulled a free cookie coupon that we got in the mail... supposedly a free cookie with ANY PURCHASE (as it says in the coupon). The guy who attended us handed the coupon to who we suppose might be the 'Manager, and told him in spanish "they want a free cookie". The "Manager" responded "no... you have to buy something." I waved the bag with the 2 sandwiches. He said, "you bought those online". So my wife waved the $20 gift-card. The "Manager" repeated "you need to buy something". Well..... either this guy doesn't speak english, or is a complete troglodite. I responded, "Forget about the cookie. YOU need it more than we do". These people need to learn customer service etiquette. It's not the cookie... it's the poor customer service, and FILTHY restaurant. If the tables were not clean... how careful are they handling & processing food? We will NEVER go back to this restaurant, and will make sure all our friends hear about it. AVOID THIS BRANCH...
Read moreIf you have ANY problem with your order, don't bother filling out the survey. The current manager, Ahad Azar will send a form letter with an apology and NO ATTEMPT whatsoever to fix the problem. Regardless of the issue, this form letter will offer NOTHING to fix their error. One of my footlongs did not get ANY cheese. No offer of "next time you're in show them this email and we'll give you extra cheese to make up for our error" My response to the form letter email, making this suggestion for a fix, was IGNORED!! Every business occasionally slips up. If they fix the error when it has been pointed out to them, they keep the customer and may even score some PR points. Ignoring a valid complaint clearly tells the customer "we don't care about you, and therefore we can't be bothered to make things right" There are two other nearby locations. Because of his "interesting" idea of customer service, Mr Azar lost a long time, frequent customer to the 8420 Katy...
