This review strictly covers only the Christmas dinner event offered by the restaurant. I don't see any mention online about this location so Im posting here.
As a aside, I did hear offhand that breakfast is 2.99 for a small or 4.99 for a large.
This is a ticket only event offered right after Thanksgiving at the restaurant only. Tickets are 19.99 or 16.99 if you are a IKEA family member.
I went to the 630pm to 800 time. There is a earlier slot for 430 pm to 6. We waited outside while the staff are preparing the food and dining area. They will give you a colored wristband to identify who is participating in the event.
Food is obtained by the usual cafeteria style method. Hot items are served in the back of the restaurant by staff.
Some items are grouped together on a platter such as desserts and the smaller meat and egg items. For example, the gravalax is served with the herring.
The ham is more of salty meaty ham. In fact one of the few items that had plenty of salt. Rest of the items are more subtle in their taste.
A lot of the items are just stuff reheated, defrosted, or opened from the food store below. Still good though.
The highlight of the meal are the whole filets of smoked and poached salmon topped with sliced cucumber.
Soft drinks are just soda, diet soda, and the fizzy berry drink. I did like glogg. It was a sweet herbal drink.
There is some festive decor on the tables and the wall and are pretty nice. They also had expat kids sing some songs. That was nice.
I enjoyed the event, well worth if you...
Read moreWorst IKEA I have ever been to. Nobody wears a mask here. We couldn't go inside because there were so many people ignoring the mask requirement. We decided to get delivery instead. The items have never been delivered. We call and they say they can't talk to us about it over the phone and we have to come INSIDE to get help. We did that and they promised to deliver it the next day. It didn't show up. They won't take our call. They blame the delivery company which is totally unacceptable when IKEA is a huge company with ample resources. Our furniture is still not delivered even though we've been to the store 3 times now to discuss it with them and we even called the moving company and they said they don't even have an order to move our things. This location is absolute garbage and it is run by incapable human beings. IKEA needs to have upper management to this location and do a full inspection because nothing is happening correctly at this location. Our experience as a long time IKEA customer has been ruined. We will never shop at another IKEA again after this experience. I had no idea that outside California IKEA runs...
Read moreIkea is always a great stop for a quick, affordable, fresh, vegan spot! We love any chance we get to (of course, shop!) but enjoy grabbing a delicious plate!
Vegan Options -Veggie Balls, full vegan, you don't have to ask for changes. -*Plant Balls - the plate shows there is milk. This is because of the gravy & mashed potatoes. -French Fries ----We prefer the PLANT BALLS (vegan) with the Veggie Ball Plate. Hopefully, that makes sense.
Dine-In experience is always great for us; always clean, available seating, great self-serve section. Beautiful views almost anywhere in the seating area.
Only negative: Due to the pandemic, no self-serve beverages. We freak'n loved their tea! Def missed that! (totally understand, though)
*As for the Veggie/Plant Balls, you can purchase them frozen on the first floor. Def recommend.
COVID Notes -Indoor seating is available -Social distance & masks are not required. Staff wore masks. -Customer service was delightful, safe, and helpful -Ordering was effortless & smooth -No self-serving beverages are available. -No issues at all.
Thank you, Ikea Restaurant, for delicious...
