Meh!!! Personally I think it's a waste of time and money visiting. There are not many discount food stores like this in Houston left. Personally I liked Mrs.Beards discount store but they went under and closed, probably because they were a real discount store. This company falsifies savings. Loaves of bread can be bought cheaper from HEB and last longer. Typically a loaf from here lasts four days before molding in my house. The boxes of snack cakes are more expensive here and a brand we have never heard of or like to eat. Cheaper at HEB. Also they have products that cost double if not triple than HEB such as peanut butter, cans of beans, etc. I do not know how this company has stayed in business for so long. Mrs.Beards was the only true discount store and it is a shame they closed...

I used to come here with my Mom when I was a child way back in the 70's, so I'm happy this is a mainstay that continues to operate to this day. Not a lot of that happening. Though it's not the .25 cent apple pies, .50 cent bread, or donuts for a $1.00 a pack of my time (man, the excitement my siblings and I had when mom came here, knowing we were going to get treats for lunch and snacking!), there is still excellent bargains to be had.
