The owner/manager has no consideration for customers. I wanted to simply add avocado to an order, which, it seems, is impossible unless you are face to face. I may sound crazy but let me break it down: I travel all over the country and regularly get tropical sometime cafe. Whether it be through Uber eats or a phone in order. I am able to place an order for a simple wrap and add avocado. They take my order over the phone and charge for it, or I order through Uber eats and add it as an option. And if itâs not an option, I call the place and they will always add it on (usually free of charge because they realize whatâs going on). Now, back to this specific store. I tried to get it through uber eats, but the app did not have the option to add avocado. So I placed the order and called them to add it on. They said they couldnât because it was an extra charge. Fair. So then I tried to place an order over the phone but get this⌠they only take online orders through Uber eats⌠I was told that I could add something else on there and they would swap it out for avocado. So I asked if I could add a specific side which would more than cover the additional cost of the avocado. I hear the manager in the background mumble something and all of a sudden I canât do that anymore. At this point Iâve spent way too much time and energy on this so I ask to speak to the manager. The one whoâs sitting there, apparently listening to the entire conversation. And guess what. Sheâs all of a sudden unavailable to talk? At that point I hung up the phone. I hope you see how a simple request turned into a multi-paragraph rant on google reviews. Thank you...
Read moreI love Tropical Smoothie and was so excited one opened by my house. I went to this one and was so disappointed from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I bit into the sandwich. They had the news on blaring in the tiny restaurant for no apparent reason, which was bizarre more than anything and totally ruined the vibe. I originally was going to eat there then immediately changed my mind.
There was one girl behind the counter who definitely was not going out of her way to be polite or accommodating, and she acted confused when I asked for an energy supplement in my smoothie. Asked for to go, got dine in. There was a worker sitting at a table on his phone the whole time I was there, which I found odd considering there are only 2 tables.
Then when I got home to eat, I took one bite and saw old, brown lettuce. And it wasnât the spring mix/spinach it was supposed to be. It was old romaine â that thick white part at the bottom of the leaf. So disappointing.
Overall, I donât blame the girl working by herself or the man sitting at one of the tables. I blame the management who is cutting corners and neglecting a business that could be successful if they paid attention to the importance of customer service and quality assurance.
I donât write reviews often but I really want this place to be good, like the other tropical smoothies Iâve been to, and not like the sad excuse for one it currently is. If something doesnât change, this place will surely close by end of summer, which is...

For a company that prides itself on offering fresh, healthy alternatives, Tropical Smoothie Cafe has been failing miserably when it comes to actually serving its plant-based customers. For three weeks yes, three whole weeks they have been completely out of plant-based meat, leaving vegetarian and vegan customers with little more than lettuce, sad wraps, and the false hope that âmaybe next timeâ theyâll have whatâs clearly listed on the menu.
How does a national chain run out of a core ingredient for nearly a month? Poor planning? Indifference? Either way, itâs beyond frustrating. Imagine a burger joint running out of beef for weeks on endâwould that be tolerated? Of course not. But somehow, Tropical Smoothie expects its plant-based customers to just deal with it.
The real kicker? Thereâs no transparency about the issue. No signs. No apologies. No attempt to make up for the inconvenienceâjust an awkward âYeah, we donât have that right nowâ when you try to order. Itâs as if plant-based eaters are an afterthought rather than valued customers.
Tropical Smoothie, do better. Either commit to keeping plant-based options consistently available or admit that you donât actually care about your vegetarian and vegan customers. Because right now, youâre making it painfully clear...
