Sweet Paris — Restaurant in Houston

This is my second time taking my daughters within a couple of weeks. My oldest loved it so she insisted we needed to take little sister. However after our experience yesterday, I told them that will be the last time we go. The staff was so rude. I felt so uncomfortable the whole time we were there. They would ask “do you want whip cream?” I would say sure, then they would add on charges. This happened on 3 different items. When I noticed on the kiosk I retracted those choices since I didn’t want them for the extra cost but the way they had asked sounded like an included option. When paying the cashier made audible sounds of dissatisfaction to my tipping amount. I’m sorry but if all they are doing is bringing the food out and I am getting my own water, silverware, napkins, and ordering up front, that does not warrant regular restaurant quality tipping where I am being actively attended to. Last time I went our food and drinks took an insane amount of time to come out when it seemed as though not a lot of people were waiting. It truly feels like they feel an entitlement to money and tips that they have not earned. The food does not taste good, despite me really wanting it to, and it settles so badly. In a city with a million food options, I will not be choosing to spend my money at this...

My girlfriend took me to the Sweet Paris in West U and it was delicious, and a very cute little restaurant. When one opened up walking distance from our building, we decided to give it a try. We took our little puppy, Chip, and walked there. We sat on the patio because he was with us, but we each went in to order and pick up a few things like silverware. The restaurant is beautiful. It's decorated very upscale, but welcoming. The staff we extremely friendly, the manager and chef each came out and greeted us. Even the food was delicious. I had the Houstonian Crepe with extra fresh jalapenos and it had a really good flavor. It also came with a side of salsa, which had a great flavor as well. My girlfriend ordered the French Breakfast, which sounded perfect for her. She likes her bacon extra crispy, so she ordered it that way. The part we didn't know, the bacon here was really thin & came out less than fulfilling. All in all, this was a great place & a wonderful experience. My wife is regular here, while I come to this location from time to time. We live close by. Today (09/13/2023) Sweet Paris had a promotion, which I came to claim. It was a BOGO deal. I do not participate in their rewards program, so I used a promo "code" sent to my wife's phone. She asked me to use this offer, while she was shopping. At the register, I was told that I cannot use a promo even though I showed a forwarded text message. I was not asked a phone number of a member (my wife) who participates in their rewards. I am sure they could validate my code, since I could tell members' (my wife's) phone number. Instead, the cashier just wanted me to pay without a discount. She was really rude- "NO! NO! YOU CANNOT GET A DISCOUNT!!" I am sure that I am not going to this place ever again. Even though we live 0.1 mile away.
