My wife and I have invested in high-end mattresses before — we’ve spent $9,000 to $10,000 on name-brand beds from the large mattress retailers around town. And while those experiences were good, we still weren’t getting the deep, restful sleep we were looking for. I’d often wake up in the middle of the night with pressure in my shoulders or hips (I’m a side sleeper), and I’d have to roll over just to get comfortable again. It left me wondering: Is this really the best sleep money can buy? That question led me down a rabbit hole — and eventually to Hästens. I started researching what truly makes a world-class mattress, and I stumbled across Hästens. I was fascinated to learn that they’ve been handcrafting beds since the 1800s, using all-natural materials like cotton, wool, flax, and horsehair. The horsehair especially stood out to me — not something you hear every day — but it turns out it’s an incredible natural regulator for body temperature and moisture. That mattered to me. When we visited the Hästens showroom in Houston, we were immediately impressed. The store is elegant, calm, and spotless — a true reflection of the brand. But what really made the difference was Katie. From the first moment, she was patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. She never rushed us, never pressured us — she just guided us through the process, answered our endless questions, and helped us understand the “why” behind the design and materials. Laying down on the mattress for the first time, I could feel the difference immediately. It was supportive, yet soft — like it adapted to my body without pushing back. Katie let us take our time to test different models, revisit ones we liked, and even come back for a second visit. It wasn’t about closing a sale — it was about getting it right. Yes, this is a significant investment. These beds cost more than even the most expensive options you’ll find at the big mattress stores. But here’s how I see it: we spend a third of our lives in bed. People will drop $100k+ on a sports car they drive once a month, yet hesitate to invest in something they use every single day. For us, this was worth every penny. When the mattress was delivered, the white glove service was flawless — professional, courteous, and respectful of our home. And after just one night on our new Hästens, I was sold. I didn’t toss and turn. I didn’t wake up with aches or pressure points. In fact, I woke up in the same position I fell asleep in — something I can’t remember happening in years. If you’re even remotely considering stepping up your sleep game, go visit Hästens Houston and ask for Katie. She made this a truly personal, thoughtful experience. We’re beyond satisfied — we’re grateful.

I've been on a pillow search for a while, I came across Hastens through friends. I purchased the high firm pillows and I am surprisingly pleased months later, which is rare. These pillows are here to stay for the long run and I will be back for more soon. Also, the beds you get to lay on while testing the pillows....I never knew a bed could feel like a dream. Thank you Katie for your continued support and I look forward to visiting you...

Obsessed with the knowledge and attention to detail that Katie has, regarding the Hästens brand and legacy. She has answered so many of my questions and I’m such a fan of the blue gingham. Thank you Hästens Houston for making this mattress experience one of the best luxury...
