Tacos La Bala — Restaurant in Houston

I have been working security at a construction site off of McGallion Road. I had to work a lot of hours due to the storm around 48. I was hungry already and I found this place open. One Awesome Lady by herself at a full run. I ordered two dinner plates and asked if I could buy a 6 pack of Cokes she said yes. After all her hard work all I had was my debit card and with the storm no one had working credit card machines. I asked her to hold on to the dinner's for me and she said yes. I drove around for miles only to find nothing.. I went back and asked her if I gave her my ID to hold untill the following day if I could take the dinners and drinks. She said yes and I ate one just after making it back to the site. It was fantastic but I was pretty hungry so I put the other one back and ate it at 2:00 am and it was awesome, the very best flower tortillas I have ever had HANDS DOWN there was no where on the tortillas that had became hard. It was all great but the money is the tortillas!!!! Thank you young Lady I will be a repeat Customer, can't imagine going anywhere else...

This was our go to spot for the last 6 months after hunting prior for that perfect authentic barbacoa and tortas, that melt in your mouth flour tortilla.

However after the last few experiences it looks like we have to go back on the hunt. We've tried to be patient and get sometimes things happen but each experience has declined with just one more thing off. Extremely inconsistent food. Tonight our rice literally tasted like white rice with the slightest whisper of chicken broth. Couldn't even taste salt. We got the wrong tortillas which hey at least their corn tortillas are pretty good too. But still not what we ordered. Sauces are completely off base from their normal flavor profile. The green one was extra thick this time and the red one just smelled like it was nasty. Really dissapointed and will be trying some other locals again.. I'll rotate back and hopefully I get a taste of what first kept us coming...

Worst customer service. I am a fan of trompo and like extra piña en mis tacos. First of all the order was wrong and didn’t want even bother to give it to us for free (I say this because I saw how they gave free tacos to another table when their order was wrong) it was just 4 btw. Second, I payed extra for something that couldn’t be done and wasent refunded. Pague por extra piña en mis tacos y cuando me dieron mi orden no tenía la extra piña. The lady tells me that the pineapple goes with the trompo. Ok so me viste la cara y me cobraste por algo que no pudiste hacer? Ordene una quesadilla y no tenía tanta carne. First and last time...
