Dining Experience @ Texas Roadhouse. . Revisiting 10 years on, much has changed. . Texas Roadhouse is less of a rowdy bar now, more a formal restaurant where families and friends gather for special occasions. . Prices have certainly risen sharply as well, due to inflation and their new premium positioning. . Still, Texas Roadhouse promises a fantastic dining experience, which I'm glad I got to experience again. . Their Iced Tea (USD $3.19) is served with a wedge of lemon, lending a zesty sour tangy flavour, and is refillable. The unsweet version features thin black tea chilled with ice cubes with earthy flavour. I appreciate that staff help to proactively top up drinks. . The Combo Appetizer (USD $12.99) offers a trio of their signature appetizers. The Baked Potato Skins have a crisp crunchy exterior, a fluffy tender creamy gooey interior, and robust smoky cheesy salty starchy savoury sweet earthy flavour. The Fried Dill Pickles has a crispy crunchy exterior, a juicy soft interior, and carries vegetal salty savoury spice sour tangy flavour. . The Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs Plate (USD $17.99 Half Slab / $22.99 Full Slab). Their signature house smoked Barbecue Pork Ribs really has tender fall-off-the-bone texture, infused with bold smoky meaty savoury tangy sour sweet herbal spice flavour from the low and slow cooking over hickory wood. Nicely succulent. . The Pulled Pork Dinner Plate (USD $13.99). Their signature Pulled Pork has a tender chewy texture, with bold smoky meaty savoury tangy sour sweet herbal spice flavour from the low and slow cooking over hickory wood. . Their serving of Cheesecake (USD $6.99) is huge, with the dessert having a dense soft firm texture to the actual cheesecake, and a crumbly grainy base of crushed graham crackers. Dressed with a thick strawberry compote and whipped cream, this has cheesy milky floral biscuity sweet fruity zesty sour flavour. . The Soft Drink Coca-Cola (USD $3.19) has a lively fizzy thin texture, with balanced herbal spice bitter sweet flavour, tasting like a combined blend of combination of liquorice, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Refillable, but rather than actually refill it, staff simply bring you another huge mug. . The Bread Roll (USD $Complimentary) here is famed in its own right. Baked fresh every 5 minutes, these soft fluffy chewy bread rolls are paired with a blend of honey, cinnamon, and salted butter, making them completely irresistible with buttery bready sweet floral honeyed savoury spice flavour. . Love the freshness of the Caesar Salad (USD $Complimentary With Main Dish Ordered), feels so wholesome. Their version omits anchovies. The mix of romaine lettuce, bread croutons, cherry tomatoes, chicken eggs, and parmesan cheese, has crisp crunchy juicy tender textures, with vegetal eggy sweet tangy sour spice flavours. . Love the Chili Con Carne (USD $Complimentary With Main Dish Ordered) here, with its good depth of flavour. Less meaty than other versions, the ample use of crisp diced red onions, shredded cheddar cheese, and blend of fresh tomatoes with tomato paste, herbs, and spices, help round out the tender minced beef stew. Their version omits beans. Has a chunky grainy smooth texture with bright meaty savoury salty spice flavour. . Overflowing out the sides of the bowl, the Mashed Potato (USD $Complimentary With Main Dish Ordered) is deliciously tasty, with a thick creamy smooth texture and starchy savoury buttery salty flavour. Paired with a brown gravy, making it gently addictive. . Their rendition of Macaroni And Cheese (USD $Complimentary With Main Dish Ordered) is milder than elsewhere, due to the use of white cheddar cheese. Has a soft gooey creamy texture, with starchy cheesy salty sweet...
Read moreI want to start by saying I regret having to leave such low stars as the Texas Road House used to be my go to, but my last few visits at this location leaves much to be desired. I’m only leaving 2 starts because the server deserves a star. After my last experience, I vowed not to go back. The last time I went to this location was for my birthday. I picked a hand cut steak upon arrival. Things seemed to go smooth until the food was served. My husbands plate arrived but not mine. I was told to wait a moment and mine would be right out. About 30 minutes later I still did not receive my plate. I was told that they lost my ticket and that I would need to pick another steak. 15 minutes later my steak arrived but By the time it arrived, I had already eaten off my husbands plate and was ready to pay and leave. Over $100 spent that evening and received my food to go. Today was my daughter’s baptism. She wanted so bad to go to the Texas Roadhouse. Although I was reluctant to go, we chose to take the family in hopes that this visit would be better. Unfortunately I was wrong. $232 later and couldn’t be more disappointed. 3 of the 8 steaks purchased were not cooked as requested. Well done was requested all 3 were medium cooked. One of which was for my son who is a picky eater. I kindly requested to have them cooked just a bit more. The server was prompt in getting those steaks back to be cooked as requested and was told a manager would bring them back to the table. 15 min later, and most of our party finished eating, the manager brought back the steaks. Extremely overcooked and burnt. Just wanted well done not burnt to a crisp. We were asked to check the steaks when clearly they were more than well done. I’m not sure if this was the manager being funny or serious but it seemed like a not so funny joke to me. At this point I am frustrated and ready to leave so we request a box and brought the burnt steaks home for our pets. The only good thing about this experience was our server. He was prompt to refill drinks and kind when trying to fix this issue. If you don’t want to waste money on steak that’s not cooked to your liking then please go elsewhere. There was no refund or discounts offered. Just poor management service, customer service, and food preparation. I am sad to say that I will not be dining at this steakhouse...
Read moreCustomer service is terrible for to-go orders. I ordered a $26+ steak diner. My order said it would be ready in 20 minutes when I ordered and paid online. I arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes after the order was due to be ready. I then had to wait 15 minutes for my sides (loaded steak fries and sautéed onions) that where not included in the order when the staff tried to give it to me. Now because my steak is 20 minutes old I try to talk to a manager about my steak being cold. I did not care about the baked potato and pulled pork sandwich (which was quite stale and cool when I ate it), I only cared about the $26+ T-bone steak. After waiting for about 5 minutes while he “figured out what happened”, he then tells me that he don’t know what happened and gives me a coupon for a free appetizer. There is no appetizer on the menu that comes close to compensating for the steak that he refused to replace. So now I have paid $26+ for a steak that is 25 minutes old. I have had great experiences with other Texas Roadhouse’s before. Not this one or any in the greater Houston area. Actually quite funny I had better experiences with Texas Roadhouse when I was not in the state of Texas. Funny how other states do better. Thinking about the time and quality of food I left with I would have been better off buying quality steaks raw and cooking them myself. Steak only takes a few minutes to cook and I could buy better steaks for $26 and I wasted more time waiting than I would have cooking. And the sautéed onions where an option for the steak and that was not on it at all. Instead of smothered in sautéed onions the steak had cold sticky onions dumped on top. And the loaded steak fries which was the freshest item in the bag… well just look at the pic. That was only 5 min after I left the restaurant. A solid block of stale, over salted potato wedges and hard cheese food product. NEVER ORDER FROM...
