We moved away from our favorite go to place in the Heights (Asia Market) and have been trying every Thai place in the area. Thai Lanna is our winner. While I have a favorite place for Panang, a favorite place for green papaya salad (both Nidda in Montrose) Thai Lanna is NOT subpar. Food is always fresh. Their spring rolls are unusually different with a thick rice paper wrap which I find delicious. The Ginger Cashew chicken, like everyone else is raving about is worth the rave. Their curries are good, the pad thai was decent. Sometimes food is better than others. We're eating our way through the entire menu, but do wish they would stay away from Americanized leaning chinese with some dishes and dive right into Thai where they shine including things like Kai Jaew (PLEASE!), and Kao Nam Tod, and Pad Kra Pao, instead of the...
Read more😯 I honestly was just expecting your basic (fortune) cookie cutter asian food. Nope! I got the lunch special: crispy ginger chicken with an egg roll and veggies. They veggies were asi asi, but the chicken and the egg rolls 🤯were nothing short of absolutely delicious. Both were light and crispy. I’m not an egg roll person but that was the best egg roll that was ever created in the history of mankind. The chef’s only purpose in life is to cook egg rolls and crispy ginger chicken, Geez. I can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes. I’ve been in Houston for 14 years and as a “Chinese Food” connoisseur I can say that this is the best “Chinese Food” (its Thai 😂) in Houston, oh and better than New York and all of the other Asia Towns that I’ve patronized. I...

One of my favorite memories as a kid is playing sick and going to their lunch buffet with my mom. This place feels like your Thai grandma invited you over and is cooking you a meal. It is comfort, love, and spice. Thai Lanna is always the best Thai restaurant in Houston. The tofu spring rolls, Tom yum shrimp, Panang curry, pad se ew, and shrimp and pineapple fried rice are some of my favorite meals. Please be patient because this restaurant is usually ran by the cook (yes, she will seat you, serve you, and cook for you. All while taking phone orders). But it is a home cooked Thai meal. I will be sad if this establishment ever...
