😯 I honestly was just expecting your basic (fortune) cookie cutter asian food. Nope! I got the lunch special: crispy ginger chicken with an egg roll and veggies. They veggies were asi asi, but the chicken and the egg rolls 🤯were nothing short of absolutely delicious. Both were light and crispy. I’m not an egg roll person but that was the best egg roll that was ever created in the history of mankind. The chef’s only purpose in life is to cook egg rolls and crispy ginger chicken, Geez. I can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes. I’ve been in Houston for 14 years and as a “Chinese Food” connoisseur I can say that this is the best “Chinese Food” (its Thai 😂) in Houston, oh and better than New York and all of the other Asia Towns that I’ve patronized. I have spoken!!!

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! This used to be a premier Thai restaurant that I gladly referred everyone to. My last 4 visits over the last 90 days in 2023 were a waste of money and time. The prices are up 30% and the ingredients are down likewise in variety and quantity. The cashew crispy tofu no longer has cashews (you can add 8 cashews for $2) and broccoli seems to be the only veggie with this meal and the red and green curry meals were watered down and soupy and the only veggies were broccoli. The worst! This seems like a different restaurant altogether. Removing my 5 star rating and downgrading to a 2. So sad. I will not be back.

Very good food with a very friendly staff! It’s a small little restaurant tucked away, but it has big flavor for a good price. This was my first visit and I only tried the lunch special Crispy Ginger Chicken, but it was very good. I lived in Thailand for 4 years and I would say that this is an American play on a Thai dish, however, it had all of the authentic flavors. The other items I saw coming out looked more classic. I wish the egg roll was a traditional Thai spring roll (small and fried with glass noodles in it). The egg roll was still very tasty. I plan to try more dishes next time I’m back, which will be soon!

We moved away from our favorite go to place in the Heights (Asia Market) and have been trying every Thai place in the area. Thai Lanna is our winner. While I have a favorite place for Panang, a favorite place for green papaya salad (both Nidda in Montrose) Thai Lanna is NOT subpar. Food is always fresh. Their spring rolls are unusually different with a thick rice paper wrap which I find delicious. The Ginger Cashew chicken, like everyone else is raving about is worth the rave. Their curries are good, the pad thai was decent. Sometimes food is better than others. We're eating our way through the entire menu, but do wish they would stay away from Americanized leaning chinese with some dishes and dive right into Thai where they shine including things like Kai Jaew (PLEASE!), and Kao Nam Tod, and Pad Kra Pao, instead of the...

I've been coming here my whole life and it has gone through a bunch of different names/owners. One of my favorite memories as a kid is playing sick and going to their lunch buffet with my mom. This place feels like your Thai grandma invited you over and is cooking you a meal. It is comfort, love, and spice. Thai Lanna is always the best Thai restaurant in Houston. The tofu spring rolls, Tom yum shrimp, Panang curry, pad se ew, and shrimp and pineapple fried rice are some of my favorite meals. Please be patient because this restaurant is usually ran by the cook (yes, she will seat you, serve you, and cook for you. All while taking phone orders). But it is a home cooked Thai meal. I will be sad if this establishment ever...
