Only gave one star because the food was good. Drinks could've been stronger. I visited this establishment to celebrate my birthday on 10/2. There was 8 people in my party. We walked in and were told by a young man wearing a Savoy shirt that we could seat ourselves wherever there was not a reserved sign. We attempted to do so then was approached by another worker wearing a white shirt, whose name I later found out was Allah. He stated they could not accommodate us and we shouldn't have been let in by the doorman. He then pointed us to the only available table that comfortably sat 5 people. He stated he would bring over stools for the guests that were standing. It took our waitress, Madison, about 5 min after we got to the table to introduce herself to us. It then took her about 20 minutes to come back and get any sort of order from us, and that was after I told her we were ready to do so.

While waiting for the waitress I approached Allah again and asked if we could have either of two tables some other guests were eating at when they were done. He stated we could. When one table got done I went to stand by the table and another employee wearing a referee shirt came up and slapped a reserved sign on the table. I informed her he stated we could have the tables and her reply was to shake her head "no" at me. She called Allah over and asked him if he told me we could have the tables and he said yes. She then informed him that they were reserved, she never addressed me, and walked off. He apologized and told me that we would have to "Thug it out" (yes, these were his exact words). I told him that was unacceptable. He basically told me he couldn't accommodate us and we'd have to split our party up. At this time he also informed us that he couldn't relocate the stools either. Therefore some of my guests had to go inside and sit at the bar.

After sitting there, continuing to receive terrible service from our waitress, I watched the manager in the referee shirt accommodate other parties after us. She actually relocated a table of men inside to accommodate a large party that was supposed to be occupying a section outside, where we were. And the large party never came. They ended up seating 3 individual parties at those tables. We expressed our concerns that day to those "in charge" and did not receive any reconciliation.

I was told by Lo I could return and he would cover my bill for the inconvenience. I went back on 10/5 and he only covered my $5 happy hour food item. My bill was only $20 with the two happy hour drinks I had. I paid for the drinks and had a very pleasant experience with Yaz at the bar. She was the only employee that was great!

However, I WILL NOT be returning to this establishment and spending any of my hard earned money there. I expected more from a business that owns other restaurants and thrives off of their brand name. Please do better with the staff you choose to represent your company. Especially when we paid automatic gratuity for TERRIBLE service and...

Absolutely loved this place! This was my first time ever attending the SAVOY based on a lot of word of mouth recommendations and it did NOT disappoint In the slightest! When i first walked up i did not expect to be transported to what felt like the most hidden but obvious speakeasy I’ve ever been too! The decor complicated the laid back but “we’re here to have a good time” atmosphere. Of course i had to order some food & drinks… Ooo my gawd! The ultimate catch over grits was everything i needed but didn’t know i needed! This had fried shrimp, a catfish filet and a lobster tail over grits with some sautéed veggies. You can order it fried or grilled but me?! Fry everything please and thank you! Nothing was overcooked or dry.. just crispy deliciousness! If i wasn’t full i would have said “throw another lobster tail on that thang… expeditiously!” The drink menu was so vast i went with a recommendation from my server (Tasia) & this drink shld come with a caution sign! “The sneaky link” was so smooth and went down well but i did use grand marnier as my topper so yeaaaaa! Now add all this with a bomb a** DJ playing every some you will literally catch yourself & everyone around you grooving to! Let’s just say, if you walked in with a dark cloud over your head… you’ll walk out with the sun shining over you from your experience here!!! I would def recommend this place to anyone in Houston or visiting looking for the vibe where good drinks, good food and good people come together effortlessly!

*i have to let yall know my server TASIA was phenomenal ! I asked her so many recommendations and she was patient with me plus the food & drinks she recommended did not disappoint!!! Ask for her if you go in the day time (that’s...

WORST SERVICE EVER! Went to Houston for a girls birthday trip and decided to go to this place on Sunday. We were a party of 8. Yes, we had reservations. As we were being seated, the hostess told us the party next to us were leaving so we'd have more space to sit. Well that party left after two hrs of us being there so we had to sit cramped with food and hookah. The food came out after an hr of us being there and one of our friends received her food after two hrs. We ordered two Margarita Towers, they didn't come for over an hr and a half. When we asked about the towers we were told that they ran out of towers, yet, our waitress never came to our area to to explain this at all or even make some compromising suggestions. One of the workers noticed we were sitting for some time and did offer some free shots which was really lemonade so if you want to get scammed and lied to, this is the place for you. The other gentleman brought us a carafe of their most popular drink which we appreciate. When we finally started having a good time, our waitress of whomever we didn't see most of the afternoon then comes over to say we have to leave because another party was coming in. This was very disappointing as out of towners coming in to celebrate birthdays. I give the ambiance a 10 but Savoy Management, please strive to deliver better customer service. I don't know if this was an off weekend as far as service but it's safe to say we were NOT impressed just disappointed. I may nerver return if I'm ever in the...

The Savoy!!! If you’re looking for an all in one, day or night vibe with amazing food, drinks, and service, The Savoy is a the place to be! It’s a complete package on ANY given day at ANY given time! Took my girl to Savory for her birthday back in June so we had to run it back Labor Day weekend. Every time we come to Houston we go to Savoy MULTIPLE times! It’s sooo easy to spread bad news but I’m here to spread the gospel about The Savoy!! Ms. B runs a tight ship, no nonsense!! Come here and a time will be had!!! Ask for Harlem! She is the BEST!!! Total package, she has good conversation, gives great drink preferences, and food suggestions, TOP TIER!! She introduced me to the CATFISH & GRITS and the Sneaky Link drink!!! The catfish did not disappoint by any means! It’s a thick piece of catfish, fried to perfection. The sneaky link is a cognac drink and it will sneak up on you! We also tried the shrimp and grits and at this point I feel like everything on the menu was made with love and affection! Now I will say that they do get busy, especially on Sundays, so give them a little grace because they are busy for a good reason. But honestly if you get there early enough you won’t be disappointed! Spend the whole day there, vibe with good music, ride the bull, and turn up with the staff who is going to make you feel welcomed and make sure you have a wonderful experience!!! #MeetMeAtTheSavoy

Well deserved five stars from the moment you walk in you feel welcome. It was shocking and I was a bit confused lol but absolutely loved their 1st class customer service treatment. We were given a tour and was told whatever you need just let us know. Once we were seated they brought out heaters and the waitress was ready to serve us. She was soo nice and professional. It was a group of 8 and she didn't miss a beat. Most of our group ordered the quesadillas. I ordered the fried chicken donut, but I didn't want chicken I wanted hamburger meat. So we asked if we can mix it doing one chicken one hamburger meat... they were like yes whatever you want. Lucky for me they were out of lettuce and gave me a slice of brisket. We ordered four drinks (288 South and Emancipation not pictured) We had so much fun I forgot all about taking pictures lol. Everything from the drinks to the food was delicious. From them to have only been open three weeks they are doing an amazing job and I hope they keep up that warm welcoming atmosphere 😊 One small suggestion... you should ask how a person likes their meat cooked. My burger was rare and I would've preferred it well done. Also didn't like all the fat on the Brisket but it was still good.
