First bad experience.
Been a big fan of torchy’s for years, even had a birthday dinner once here. First time at this location, and the service was horrible (first time for everything I guess). Right when I was about to start ordering either the cashier, I was only able to get one or two words out before (I think it was the manager) rudely interrupted me from behind to talk to the cashier. The cashier then turned around and walked away to speak with another customer. I was left standing there feeling dumb and ignored. For quite a while. After my order was finally taken, who I assume was the manager, started taking orders on the second register, which left me confused as to why she couldn’t help the other customer to begin with. I also overheard something about Doordash too, so I don’t think they were actual an customer either… food took a while to come out as well for me, especially considering I only ordered for myself. Funny enough, while I was waiting, I observed another guy trying to talk to someone about his order that was wither wrong or missing, and when he tried to talk to the manager, she walked away from him to prioritize taking out the trash. At least it’s not me that got ignored?
I’ve worked in a restaurant as a manager, so I know things can happen fast paced, but the place wasn’t packed at all at the time, and I would always tell the staff I managed to prioritize customer service above all. Unfortunately I did not get the same treatment at this location and will go out of my way to get torchy’s at...
Read moreThe food hasn't been awful, but the service at the 19th location near The Heights has been abysmal. There have been multiple times where service was atrocious. One time it was so bad that we sat waiting for our food for so long that we had 2-3 different employees ask us if we received our food, until something was finally done. The store manager came to us and was beyond polite and comped our meal which was very sweet of her. The next time we came it was a good experience, then the next it was absolutely awful. Just a little while ago, my girlfriend and I ordered and our tacos were brought in the same basket, no biggy, I'll just use a napkin for a plate. Another server comes by and asks if we need an extra basket, I say sure and I really appreciate it. She leaves, I see her doing things (place isn't crazy packed) and she never brings the basket. No biggy, just a bit bizarre. Eventually the same server comes back asking if she can take our baskets, I say yes please, and then proceed to ask if we could get more chips. She for whatever reason immediately deadpans and says sure and leaves. The attitude felt very abrupt. Again, she never brings more chips. So we wait for an additional 20 minutes and no one comes, so we leave. It's a shame cause it felt like we wasted the queso.
Again, food here isn't bad, it's consistent in terms of quality. But the service is abhorrent, and widely inconsistent. When it's...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that I love Torchy's...but not this location lately. Service seems to have gone downhill over the past several months. It seems like they are out of something every time we visit. Yesterday, it was corn tortillas at 11:45 am. If your establishment has tacos in the name, please make sure you have corn tortillas to start the day off or do a little problem solving and get some.
My husband also ordered a coffee only to find empty coffee containers. When he went back to check again some 20 minutes later, there was still no coffee, so he asked two separate employees about it, only to be brushed off with one girl insisting that there was coffee in the container behind the one up front. Of course, she was wrong, but still seemed put off to even be asked.
While we were waiting for our food, I saw another table repeatedly ask servers to remove the trash and glasses left on their table from previous customers. This seemed to be the norm, as trash was shuffled from one empty table to the next as customers were bussing their own tables in order to find seating.
All in all, the staff comes off as not caring about whether or not they do their jobs, and it is evident that management must not...
