Wendy's — Restaurant in Houston

I went there earlier this week and the food is good, but the service was not pleasant. Firstly, they made us wait quite a bit. Which isn't a problem in itself but the employees didn't even acknowledge us. At first we thought it was because they couldn't see us so we moved closer to the counter and tried to get their attention. Then we overheard two employees arguing about who got to take our order. Basically: "Go take their order, they are waiting" "I already did it last time" "Well I am not doing it!"

Shortly after, a young man also came in and got in line behind us. We proceeded to wait longer. He then asked if they had kept us waiting and we said yes. He said this wasn't the first time they pulled something like this and that he's had the same issue before with employees not wanting to take an order. He walked up to the counter and said "Excuse me" to get one of the employee's attention. I kid you not, the employee completely ignored him. There is no way she didn't hear him because she was within earshot and he called out several times. He then turned to us again and said "She's pretending not to hear me. They just don't want to work."

A few moments later the same employee came over and we asked what was going on. She said that the employee that is supposed to to be taking our order is busy at the time. Fair enough. We then asked if she could take our order instead and she said she couldn't. I don't know if you need specific authorization to work the machine, but the earlier conversation we overheard led us to believe that they refused to take our order simply because they didn't want to do it, not because they couldn't. At this time there were like 4 employees working on the drive through (I don't think you need that many people to work the drive through) and none at the front machine. The young man walked out after this.

Shortly afterward, the employee that was missing came out and apologized for the wait. She was nice about everything and took our order. Everything went smoothly after that.

I am disappointed to hear that other customers have had a bad experience here. I don't know if anybody reads these reviews but I hope this is addressed. I know people can have bad days, but flat out refusing to take an order when no one else is available just because "it isn't my turn on the machine" is quite childish. And then ignoring a customer who was politely trying to get your attention? Yeah, I hope this...

Visited on 2/17. Arrived @1022, ordered breakfast sandwich proceeded to drive thru. At the window saw a sign says free drink with purchase of breakfast sandwich. I informed cashier id like the free drink, was told I couldn't get it because breakfast was over.Tho it was 1033, I told him 1st its the transaction, not the time, so transaction wasn't completed because I hadn't received my order yet. He still refused, saying also I needed to use the app, which the sign didn't specify that, plus, who uses a app on drive-thru? I asked for the Mgr, he claimed he was the mgr, which was a lie, he was about 18/19yo, and not dressed like a mgr, he had on a Wendy's tee. I asked for the Dst Mgr's #, and he claimed he didn't know it. So I asked his name, and he gave me a Pakistani sounding name which I can't pronounce. He clearly was Hispanic, so i looked at the receipt once i left, and it said Alfredo. I called the official cust service line, explained what took place, left my info, as of yet, haven't heard from the Dst mgr yet. Not being petty, but I don't appreciate the sham, poor customer svc, laziness, being lied to, and lack of honoring Wendy's promo. I pray the owner reads this because I'm going to call corporate again. I don't want the dude fired, but he needs counseling on cust svc. It was a freaking free drink. I had to give one star, but it was more of -1, totally dissatisfied, won't...

Welcome to the Gulfgate Mall area (which is also my hometown)! This Wendy's has stood the test of time, and has only gotten nicer (I believe the last remodel was in 2015). Been coming here since I was a child.

Employees come and go (as it's not meant to be a career). Ample drive-thru, always fast, food always hot, plus making sure they get your order right. If they make a mistake they will quickly correct it so you can be on your way. Inside they have clean restrooms (if not clean you can always inform someone), in the left there is a "bar" where you can connect to wi-fi with plugs to charge your phone as you eat your meals in peace. Enjoy the peaceful and romantic music that is played here.

There is a CHASE bank behind this eating establishment and on your right is an H-E-B (this location has a gas station). Watch out for the apartments to it's right cuz although it looks nice now, it is known for having sketchy people so keep your doors locked while ordering.

About two decades ago this area used to be dangerous (robberies, drug deals and shoplifting were common) but now police are always there during the evenings so (in ♡G👑D♡) it may never be repeated the same way again (the way it happened to the Greenspoint area in which they now called "Gunspoint").
