Big Sis Tex and I decided to have lunch together after church to catch up on things. She introduced me to Cafe East off of 1960, in Humble. Wow! This place was a poppin'!!! Even though there is plenty of parking, I let Big Sis Tex out and searched for parking space. Took about 1.5 minutes to find one within reasonable walking distance - for us. Constant movement going on. When you come in, you will be greeted by a host or hostess for seating. Helen was our server for the day. In the beginning she was polite, but a little reserved. However, as we took our time, she opened up with beautiful smiles!!! (Like I said, it was a poppin'!) Sorry, once again, was hungry and started eating and chatting before I thought about pictures of the food ( 😀 ... gives me an excuse to go back again 😉!!!) Anyway, did take some pictures of inside to show that there is plenty of seating for a busy Sunday afternoon. Plenty of fresh dishes restocked at the buffet. AND, I throughly stuffed myself with five small plates, not including 2 small bowls of soup and a small plate of sushi! I am definitely going back!!!

Went here for the first time. I’ve been to China Bear, Hibachi, and plenty of other Chinese buffets in Houston, and I can honestly say this is one of our favorites. The food is noticeably fresher — not the usual generic dishes thrown in just to fill space under the excuse of “more choices.” You can tell the manager or owner really cares about quality. Their sushi selection is great, and the steak was impressive. They also have fresh seafood like oysters and large, juicy shrimp. Even the restroom was clean, which says a lot about how they maintain the place. I told my husband it might be more expensive than others in its category, but I was surprised — it’s actually not. We went on a Monday afternoon, and it wasn’t crowded like weekends, so I can’t speak for the weekend experience. Overall, we highly recommend it. It’s our new favorite — and we’re glad it’s close to our new home. and yes I used chatgpt to fix my grammar because if not, you'd scratch your head with what I am trying to convey lol

This buffet used to be a good spot to dine in and eat good food for a good price. I just went this past Sunday to dine in for 2 people and found a roach leg on my fruit and didn't notice until I had a couple of pieces left. I notified the manager right away and requested a free charge for 2 meals, which I thought was a reasonable request. Since the roach leg was only on my plate, they charged me for one meal and not the other. I didn't mind paying that meal at all. It would have shown that they care about their services to the customers, and it didn't seem like it. I think it's the right thing to do, to let us go out without paying anything for the inconvenience. I thought it was a crawfish leg at first, hoping it was. It wasn't.

This restaurant has a list of issues: Poor quality of food- sushi was hot, ice under serving platters was melted & had been that way obviously for a while, other dishes served were over cooked or under cooked nothing prepared properly, shrimp was not cleaned before being cooked & served, soup area had been ranted by spoons being used for wrong containers, all the fried foods were extremely greasy. Honestly the worst tasting and quality I’ve ever experienced. Even the crawfish was disgusting! Service and Customer service skills: not one server nor any other personnel were helpful, they were rude when asked when fresh items were going to be brought out, the staff was never seen cleaning any of the food areas which were so disoriented from patrons making messes, food all over the floor around the food area (obvious it had been there a while, this mess didn’t just happen while we were there) when we were asked how did we enjoy our meal I was honest and told them of all the problems and our server simply said I will tell the manager and proceeded to walk off while I was still talking to him. The establishments cleanliness & appearance: the tables upon being seated were not spaced apart so to be cautious due to covid nor were there any barriers placed between booths like most all restaurants have done as a precautionary measure, the floors throughout the establishment were not clean, our table/booth where we were seated was not clean the seat we sat on was ripped and dirty we had to ask our server to clean these so we may be seated (which he acted as if he was put out by doing so), the restrooms were absolutely filthy!!! There were not enough disposable toiletries to use, no hand soap, some persons had what appeared to be a horrific accident in one bathroom that had not been cleaned and the worst part was the feces was DRY!!! Yes I said DRY!!! Which lets me know this didn’t just happen either. The dishes/cups/utensils provided were actually chewed on by human teeth (I hope), some dishes still had substances on them and we were only offered one form each. The salt/pepper shakers on the tables had a greasy feel to them meaning they had not been wiped down between patrons and most restaurants are only providing disposable condiments due to covid whereas this establishment is still using the regular to save a buck. My son didn’t make it to the car before expelling what he had tried so hard to consume. However I did make it home to relieve my body of their toxic waste they call food. The only reason there is one star on here from me is because you can’t leave a comment without making at least one selection although it should be...

so i jst went out to eat at this buffet, our waiter he gave us HORRIBLE service, im talking HORRIBLE, he never even stopped by to check on us not even ONCE! , we needed refills so we had to get up OURSELVES to ask ANOTHER waiter to go get us refills, we were done with our food and even though he walked passed us a million times, he didnt even bother to pick up all the dirty plates that have been pilling up through our ENTIRE meal! Worst part is, he clearly saw all the trash and NEVER bothered to stop and pick it up! So we were done eating and went to the front to pay.. BUT since he had done a horrible job at doing HIS job we jst left him the change witch was a penny.. so we left and were walking out the door, when all of a sudden he runs up and throws the penny at us and tells us how we can keep our "penny"??!!??!! "ARE YOU SERIOUSE?? DID U REALLY JST THROW THAT PENNY AT US"? Never in my LIFE since ive worked in costumer service have i ever seen that happen! i see people leave waiters a penny sometimes or even nothing, and NEVER has a waiter ever gone up to the costumer and THROW THE PENNY THEY JUST LEFT BACK AT COSTUMER! This got me so mad then i quickly asked for the manager.. manager comes and all he freakin says is.. "i apologize ill talk to him"??? Are u seriouse?? Thats ALL youre gonna do?? JST SIMPLY APOLOGIZE?? I GOT SO MAD! That manager ive talked to obviously didnt know how to do his job! He could of handled the situation MUCH BETTER but the whole time it seemed like he had that waiters back! He didnt really take initiative to the situation and he didn't even give us or even show us his support not even 1% this place is COMPLETELY obserd the manager and wait staff are completely out of it!! so if youre looking for a restaurant that has GREAT COSTUMER SERVICE, ANS FRIENDLY STAFF dnt think about eating at "CafeEast" worst place ive ever experienced costumer service at!! Dnt EVER go...

I am a handicap wheelchair bound with a service dog and I was denied entry into their restaurant this afternoon. I was told that I could not come in with a service dog(never ask what kind of service dog) I reminded them that the Texas law said that they could not deny me service in any public place including restaurants with a service dog. They continue to tell me no and I asked to speak to a manager. A lady came out and said that no she could not let me enter because the customers are complaining about dogs in there I then told her are she going to do what the customer say or what the Texas law said. She finally said she would go get my food and I remind her this is a buffet and they have different food every day. I've been asked her if I could stand far away and try to point out the food I want and she said she would do that but I had to hurry. She threw the food on the plate overstack the food plate and I kept telling her that it was too much. I am on a fixed income and my plate is usually 6 to 8 dollars because they charge you by the weight of the food. When I got to check out my plate was $20 I am on a fixed income and I had to spend every penny I had. When I got home juice was all over all of my food because she just threw it in and mixed up all the food because I'm standing there looking at her. After getting home I called and asked again to speak to a manager and a man got on the phone when I started talking to him he passed the phone to a server and she told me to call back when they not busy. I was very embarrassed standing up there arguing with them about the Texas law and they were very very rude and some even act as though they couldn't understand English. Please don't go to this restaurant if you are handicapped with a service dog until I correct this problem because I am not done yet even if I have to...
