We had a reservation for 30 here at 7:00 on 9/11/21 for my wife’s birthday which they accepted. To be honest, we were running a few minutes late, but we had friends here on time to hold our reservation. We called to inform them we were running just a little late and they informed us that they can only hold the tables for 15 minutes past the reservation. We said that we were on the way and we already had people there to hold our reservation. We arrived and was inside at 7:20. We find out from our friends that they would not hold our reservation unless all of us were present. WTH? The manager told us that they gave our tables away at 7:15 even though 5 people were here at 7:00 and that we called to inform them we are on the way. We were able to salvage 2 tables which holds 13 people stuffed in. All the tables around our 2 tables were already given out except 1 table which we had to take to keep our family from standing up to eat. The tables have newly seated guests so it will be a while before they are open again. We have more friends arriving. Even with the communication of being on the way and the guests already present the manager still decided to give our tables away at 7:15. We were inside at 7:20. Now we have more people coming with no more tables available. We’ll see how it goes. The servers seem to be on point, but the management is the sole reason for one star for her attempt at ruining my wife’s birthday dinner. She is very uncompromisable in consideration for her guests and seems very inconsiderate at the trouble she has caused. I worked several years in the restaurant industry serving tables so I am knowledgeable on what should, could, and would be done for the guests. During our meal we noticed that other smaller parties were seated even though not everyone was present. We saw them show up later. We informed our friends that had to work about the issue and they decided to not show up at all because of the manager’s lack of customer satisfaction. On a side note: a couple of steaks were charred. My brother-in-law ordered his ribeye medium while I ordered mine medium-well. Mine was okay, but his was charred in some places. My friend who sat next to me ordered hers well done, but she got a hockey puck. To say they were overcooked would be an understatement. The rest of the food was delicious. Other than a couple of cooking mishaps I’d still say the food went well. It wasn’t flawless, and I definitely would NOT have served a hockey puck, but the other 20 meals and appetizers were delicious without complaints. A couple of complaints were made about the service delays, but as a person who worked several years in the industry, I understand that a big party like ours on a Saturday night with a full house can take some patience. In my opinion, the service was great. The servers were knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful. They catered to our needs without any resistance; unlike their manager who could use a few lessons on guest relations. So this is my experience with a big birthday party reservation at Saltgrass Steakhouse at Highway 59 North near FM 1960 on 9/11/21. Service = 5 stars Food = 4 stars Management = should be demoted and/or retrained for customer relations. We said that we were on the way and had people arrived already. She refused to seat our friends until EVERYONE arrived, yet we saw other parties being sat incomplete until later. Totally biased if you ask me. I may eat here again, but not this location. I will NOT be celebrating my parties here due to the manager’s ambition to ruin a birthday. I suggest that you be safe in celebrating your dinner parties elsewhere. I hope this review helps your decision making to ensure the best experience you can get dining with your friends and/or loved...

Update: 02-14-25 I used to enjoy going here for a nice meal with my family. Now it is just myself and my husband. He took me on my Valentine's dinner date night, 1 night early, as I would be out of town the following day. We arrived at 7:06 pm. behind a huge party of 13, that soon turned into 14. It was cold outside. No one wanted to wait outside with the 45 min wait time to 1 hr. We all crowded into the front lobby like sardines. I guess that was a reason it was so warm at the time. Our table came up after 45 min. Of waiting. We were sat at a 2 seatertable next to the first window by the lobby in a corner. The draftiest place, apparently, there could be, unknowingly! We ordered our drinks. I ordered my drink and water, as it takes a bit to acquire refills. The mgr. came by to give my husband his card back. It was "Hi my name is..., How are you doing so far?, and enjoy your meal!"then darts off. Usually, they would bring it back after we had our meal, but times changed, and they were busy. We received our bread and drinks and asked if the heat could be turned up as it was chilly. Waitress apologized and walked off. Usually, we finish the bread, but couldn't as it was cold and dry, not even warm as they usually were. The salad was served on an ice-cold bowl. The only part of the meal at natural temperature. My food arrived hot, but after 2 min. it became cold to the touch. I could not finish it. My husband tried for 15 min to get the attention of a mgr or waiter to ask if the front doors could be closed and something for my food. Our waitress finally came back and noticed both my drinks were empty and apologized. She hurridly ran back to get that taken care of before we could get her to ask the hostess to close the door. Another 10 min pass and finally, my drinks arrived. My husband asked about the doors, and she hurriedly walked away, and the doors were shut. She was moving so fast we could not ask about my food to be reheated. But my experience for the evening was ruined by that point. I became upset. My hands were ice cold to the touch, and all my husband could do was apologize to me and try to hold my hands to keep the warm, preventing him from also enjoying his meal. He finished his meal as I just sat and watched. No one else was affected, just me. The waitress came by as it slowed down considerably, I asked for a to-go box and stated it was too cold to eat. I just wanted to get to some place warm! I would bring it home and heat it myself to be able to finish it! We did let the waitress know about it being cold, but only apologies. No mgr came by either after the first interaction. It was highly busy that tables were being forgotten. We just happened to have drawn the short stick of that bunch. My husband was upset that my night was ruined and, in turn ruined his as well. We spent a lot for the evening and were highly dissatisfied for the first time.

3 yrs prior...(Was 5 star) Always love eating here. We have been Landry's card members for years. Service has always been satisfactory. Nothing over the top. Love the beer bread! Steaks cooked to order also salads prepared as ordered even as picky as some members of my family can be. All in all, nice establishment for a...

I've never actually eaten here, not for lack of trying mind you. I attempted to take my wife here for her birthday. We got there on a Wednesday and it was very busy, which we took to be a good sign. When we got inside we were greeted and told there would be a fifteen minute wait which was fine, as I said they were busy and we aren't picky people. The hostess asked for a phone number to let us know when our table was ready and since the waiting are was already pretty full and it was a nice day we decided to wait outside on the patio. Around fifteen minutes later we get a call that says our table is ready and to head inside. When we get inside there is a line at the hostess desk with two people in front of us. We wait in line for what felt like 2 minutes and change and when we get up to the hostess she tells us that since it had been five minutes she had given our table away already....we were a bit shocked since we had just got the call maybe two minutes prior and headed directly inside. We asked how it could have been more than five minutes and she explains that they first send a message, and then call and the message had gone out more than five minutes ago. I looked at my phone, checked messages and sure enough I had one from them I had missed and literally while I was looking at it i watched the time change from a 5 to a 6 minutes since received. Then the hostess said that if we continued to wait she might be able to "find" something for me but at that point my wife was so upsett she stormed out and I followed her. It wasn't so much what happened(even though that was ridiculous) it was more the dismissive and vaguely rude way the hostess seemed to insinuate that it was our fault that struck a chord with my wife. I highly doubt we'll ever go back, which is a shame because I've heard they have great food, no amount of good food though makes up for service that bad before you even make it past the...

Update: 8-9-2022. We went for restaurant week. (If you don't know about this look it up. Very much worth participating in). When we arrived we were not offered or told about restaurant week. I had to request the menu for it. After awhile I noticed how no one was getting the menus and felt sad about how many meals for The Houston Food Bank were being missed out on. I asked the manager Mark about why they don't offer the menu. He told me that it was a perk for Landry club members (which I am a member and have been for many years, this is NOT a perk of membership) and that the menu are only offered to them. (We were not offered the menu). I felt that this restaurant wants to use Houston Restaurant Week (HRW) for the business but not really participate. It saddens me as we eat here a lot. Other than this the food was great! The menu selections for HRW were really good. For $39.00 I got fried mushrooms ( very favorable),house Salad, bacon wrapped 6 oz felit mignon (melts in your mouth), 5 fried shrimp, loaded baked potato, and cheesecake...all were excellent!!! My husband got range rattlers (stuffed jalapeños) the were so favorable, nice spice and the shrimp stuffed inside just amped it up ( wish the shrimp went all the way through to the end...the were huge jalapeños) David was our server and he did an excellent job!!! 11-14-2019. Great food and service...had some food that was cold but everyone was wonderful about it and it was cold here in Texas... 7-14-2022. Wonderful!!! Great food as always...green beans were wonderful, so much flavor!!!!!

I don't understand why EVERYTIME I order the same thing.... Chuck wagon fries with American cheese, no chives no sour cream and a steak... the order is always messed up! Either they don't put the American Cheese on there or the potatoes are burnt and there's sour cream and chives on it. I order or eat there at least 4 times a week, it got to the point where I even call right after to ensure the orders correct. How does it still come out wrong after that. Is this a personal thing??? When I called Armondo whom I suppose is the manager...he tells me that the white gooey cheese IS IN FACT American Cheese...like I all of a sudden don't know the difference.....and that I have to call Door Dash to fix it....but Door Dash didn't prepare the food they just deliver. I pay anywhere from 45 to 60 bucks plus tip every time I order from there depending on which steak I get...I SHOULD be able to order the food like I like it without hassle. This is like the 5th time thus has happened and it shouldn't be this hard to take an order and shouldn't have happened THIS many times. So either im driving back to Saltgrass or having to call Doordash and get them to REORDER and wait for my food. I wouldn't even be surprised at this point if it's not right again! ☝🏾But Nicole who works there has been getting my food right EVERYTIME. I hate to order when she's not that...Thank God for Nicole she deserves a raise!!!

Excellent food. Went in for an afternoon meal looking for enough to keep me going as the only meal that day so I chose the T-bone with the artichokes. It was a wonderful choice. Very tender steak cooked exactly as requested with the extra mushrooms and onions on top. I opted to have a Cesar salad to start as that is my favourite, others in the party had the garden salad and both looked very good, but I did enjoy mine. Service was very good and it was busy so when things seemed to be taking longer than expected we were greeted and assured that the kitchen was working on a few large tables and we were not forgotten which was nice. Noticed a few desserts coming past, though I was not indulging that day, they looked amazingly large and really wanted to try that carrot cake. Overall an excellent experience and I would highly recommend as a very good place to get high quality steak and great service. Thank you.
