My sister & I went to the Humble, Texas location since they opened back up for inside restaurant seating.
We entered around 1:30 in the afternoon. We had to wait for someone, the girl is poorly dressed that comes to seat us. There were only two tables with patrons & two people sitting in the Bar area. ???
When we were seated, it took at least 15 minutes for someone to come say hello & ask our drink order. Then we waited another ten minutes for two glasses of Tea. Our tea was delivered & the girl just walks off again. She doesn’t come back! Finally we get her back over & ask for our bread loaf & butter. By then, we need more tea also. Guess what - long time till we get our tea and No Bread! There is only two other tables with people at them, in the whole place. When the girl comes back she asks if we are ready to order. We ask about the bread. She goes to leave & we tell her to wait, we want to order an appetizer. She leaves & finally comes with the Wild West Shrimp. (Cold) No bread. We place our orders for Chicken Fried Steaks, one w/loaded mashed potatoes & one w/broccoli and cheese. Also need more tea! We finally get our plates about 25 minutes later- the food is cold. The gravy will not even pour out of bowl. The steak is maybe Two inches wide & Three inches long. One piece, that was greasy with no flavor. What is this?? Maybe four bites of food. Really? What happened? This used to be a nice size & more than four bites. We gave up. Apparently there is a new manager, Anthony. We ask why the servings size is different and for Nolan Ryan beef, the couple of bites were grizzly and tough. We said we did not like it & gave up. He told us portion sizes have changed and also new menus. We got our check & left. This has been our Go To place to eat together & visit. We usually get the Shrimp, Salads, 8oz Filets, & our sides, with iced teas. Our check is always around $60.00 plus tip. Now we paid that for this food. Now there is 9 oz filet - higher priced, salads do not come with it, we have to pay extra. Are we, the Customers having to pay higher prices, with less offered and smaller serving sizes because you need to make money that you lost during the pandemic? So sad this restaurant has changed with quality of the help, the cook, the manager and even the dress attire of...
Read moreUpdate 1: as you can see from the response below I was contacted by Longhorn's customer relations department. They did a great job trying to resolve the issue. I've updated my rating from 1 star based on the customer service. I'll do a second update once I've dined at the restaurant again.
Really disappointed. Decided to take my parents out for Christmas dinner instead of cooking for them. I want to start on a good note by saying the service was pretty good. The kid working our table was attentive, personable, and kept our waters full and removed plates when we were done with them. That's unfortunately where the good ends. I ordered a prime rib dinner and it was dry. The horseradish sauce that accompanied it was mostly heavy cream with barely and horseradish, the side of horseradish I ordered to make up for the sauce looked like it was spoiled. On to my wife's filet...she ordered hers topped with crab. The filet was tough and dry( she ordered hers medium rare) and the crab smelled so bad that she removed it from the steak and left it to the side. My mom and dad ordered the New York strips and if you can guess they were also dry and tough. I don't know where they get their meats from or of them were old but the quality was nowhere close to the prices (over $20.00 each) they were charging for them. I've had better cuts of meat from a cafeteria. The baked potato I got was also overcooked. This will be the last time I go to longhorn. We thought we'd go there because the ambiance was a little more upscale than an outback per se but the quality of the food was terrible. Should have gone somewhere else. I was embarrassed that my family had to dredge through that meal. The only reason we didn't get up and leave was my mom is on oxygen and it's hard enough getting her out of the house let alone drag her to another restaurant after she just sat down to catch her breath. For a place that has steaks in their name, I'd recommend staying away from the steaks and in this case from their prime rib. I'm staying away...
Read moreToday was a disappointment. I normally come to this location when I arrive to Houston straight from the airport. I'm always excited to order their outlaw Ribeye. I always sit at the bar because I typically dine there alone. Today, I was greated promptly however the service nor the food quality was what I'm accustomed to at this restaurant. The bar has been set so high and today it was awful because I know how good the food and service normally is. I sat at the bar top where Amanda was my server/bartender. Unfortunately she did not pay close attention to the small details. I ordered a margarita when I first sat down, she rang it in but never made it or brought it to me. My food came out and my steak was over cooked. I ordered it medium rare but it came out medium with hardly no seasoning unfortunately. I was waiting for Amanda to ask how was everything tasting, but unfortunately she never checked back on me. I was also going to ask for my margarita then but she never came back to me. She just kept serving everyone else around but me. Please keep in mind the bar was not busy whatsoever. I think she was just doing way to much with the Togo orders to where she couldn't focus on her guest that was dining in. When it was time to pay I asked her to remove the margarita and she did, but I ordered it because I wanted it. She STILL didn't try to make it better and just make the drink. She just voided it off and kept it moving.. Im not the type to call the manger over or complain, but I will leave a review. I've worked in hospitality and I know mistakes are bound to happen but I would ALWAYS make the situation better and at least still offer whatever the customer ordered then still voided it because it was my mistake. Over all it was it was just a huge disappointment today. I will not be dining at this...
