I ordered the $32 Porterhouse T-Bone, and the meat was tasteless, tough, hard and dry and I could only eat half of the steak. Was only able to eat and barely chew the tenderloin side, which also had not very much tenderloin on that side. Not sure where they get their meat from, but I am very sure I can find a better cut on sale at any grocery store. The server never asked if I would like any rolls and I had to ask another server passing by if I could get some rolls which she did bring to me while I was waiting for my order to come from the kitchen. I was very looking forward and excited to go out and have someone else grill me a great steak dinner, now only wishing I should have done it myself. When ordering the food, I asked for the loaded baked potato and was brought a baked potato with butter, bacon and cheese and had no green onions or sour cream which I had to ask the server for sour cream. I was one of the first to arrive when they opened their doors at 4pm and waited patiently until the doors were opened. As I went in and was being seated, no one even told me that I was being seated as one of the 6 Roadhouse staff standing around the seating podium nor the hostess doing the seating never mentioned her name and told me should we be seating me and just expected to me to have telepathic powers and know this and to follow her. Once I figured it out after asking some of the other staff that was coming and going around the podium, I quickly caught up to hostess that was seating me which she was already halfway through the restaurant when I caught up to her. Then she tried to seat me next to dish & pot washer room with loud clanging while the rest of the nicer seats were empty for the establishment just recently opened. In all it cost me close to $51 with tip, and sadly I need to say this restaurant is in desperate need of better training for staff and also a food vendor that will provide them better quality meat that is if the restaurant wants to buy better quality, which I feel is really the problem for the steak that was served to me was only good for a dog chew toy. Being a retired fine dining professional chef and retiring from the food industry after 35 years of service, I can say I pretty much know what I am talking about for this review.
My response from the response from the owner: I really do not appreciate you trying to assign more work for me, especially after all of the hard work that I had to do already by trying to chew into that dry cowhide that was served to me yesterday. I walked into the establishment with a smile on my face and walked out with a frown. The waitress was aware and should have shown the management the half-eaten steak that I left on my plate prior to tossing it away after I left the restaurant yesterday or management should have met with me during this nightmarish experience to observe the bad steak experience I was having for themselves instead of acting like ghosts. Anyone in my past that ever stepped into any one of my 5-star restaurants and had a problem, I was right there at their table and in their face which was once in a blue moon and I always had long lines outside of all of my restaurants before I opened the doors, which was kind of a red flag to me from the start before I walked in and I should have expected the treatment I received from your...
Read moreDefinitely not made for family gatherings. You will not be sat together. We had a party of 16 and they claim they told us that we would be seated behind each other but they did not. Why would we want to talk over or shoulders with the rest of our party. There was a booth right across from us and they refused to let us get that instead so we could all interact with our party. We had a elderly person with us that could not stand for a long time. We had made our reservations well in advance but the tables weren't ready when we arrived. We asked could they could at least seat my uncle so he wouldn't have to get up and down or stand for a long period they agreed. They sent 2 young ladies to seat him and if I tell you they ran off and left him till he just stopped and stood in place because they walked away so fast he couldn't catch up. They eventually came back to get him but definitely need training in Senior etiquette. Once we sat the older people, I inquired about the table across from us. No one was seated there but they told us no we had to be sat back to back. Then finally the rest of the party was sat it took 30mins to get rolls a party of 16 they bought 2 baskets per table then gave the tables that came after us rolls before they accomadated our party. The server then explained that they didn't want the other table to wait even though we waited 30mins just to get rolls then you didn't bring enough. She would rather the non- black people not be upset but I guess it was ok for us to be upset. 🤷🏾♀️ In all fairness I can't say it was about race but it didn't look very good and since this is a normal occurrence in African American life, it is how it felt. By the time the waitress took our order I was over it I didn't even order food for my self. The 1st table ordered keep in mind we were sat at 6:30 it was 8:15 before the second table recieved their food. If I could have given negitive stars for service I would as far as the atmosphere everyone seen like they were upset even though we were the ones being treated poorly. It was my uncles birthday his first since his wife died and we wanted to make it special well this is definitely one birthday he...
Read moreWe love TRH, we’ve been coming here for years, We love to visit TRH in Baytown & Pasadena. We have also visit the location in Lake Charles. This was our first visit to this location and it was the worst experience we’ve ever had. First we asked for a table for 7 guests and were seated at booth that only seated 6. My husband had to put a chair on the end of the table and he was so uncomfortable. We had to ask the waitress for more bread because she never asked if we wanted more (originally they had brought 2 baskets) for a table of 7 adults. When the waitress brought the drinks she said, “I need room”, she placed the whole tray on the table with the drinks on it. (In my opinion that was rude and bad service) 6 of us had salads when we finished our salads, we had to stack up the bowls on top of one another to make room (no one picked up the dirty salad bowls) my daughter had to ask one of the waitstaff worker to please pick them up. When the food was brought out by the food runner the waitress never came to ask if everything was ok with our food. Waitress never asked if we needed refills on our drinks (we had to flag her down for refills) From our past experience we know that TRH tapes a receipt on the end of the table so management can go around to check on the tables then they pulls the receipt off the table when they have checked on that table. No manager came to our table and we noticed the tables around us also had their receipt taped after the customers had already left. Waitress never asked if we needed to-go boxes and brought the ticket to the table and set it next to my husband while he was still eating. Worst experience ever and we will NEVER visit this location again. We spent $165 without tip for 7 and it was not worth it. Food was ok but the two that ordered ribs said the ribs were over cooked and they didn’t like them. The waitress didn’t pick up any plates (see picture) that is how the table was when we got up. They were not that busy for the manager not to go around to check on tables. I spoke to one of the manager (female) as we walked out and addressed some of our concerns, WE won’t...
