Myself, my girlfriend and 2 other friends went to Mi Rancho on 3/11/2018. Upon arrival a young lady took my drank order, she didn't really speak however she was pleasant. We ordered two margaritas and 4 waters. About 5 minutes later the young lady brought chips and salsa to our table and that was it. Assuming that she had to go back to get the waters and margaritas, we continued talking and waiting. About 10 minutes later another young lady walked up and stated that she was our waitress, we explained to her that we had given our drink orders to someone else. She asked that we give them to her and she would take care of it. We get our drinks and then order our food and get our food. I asked for a whole grilled jalapeno...she brought me out canned jalapenos, then she brought me out a grilled bell pepper and at that point, I didn't even care to try anymore. I have never met anyone that was hispanic that didn't know what a whole jalapeno was. This young lady looked completely lost about what I was asking. One person with us got her food to go, paid her tab and left. Myself and my gf and the other woman who joined us ate our food and sat there literally 45 minutes after finishing our food and not one waitress, waiter, manager, NOTHING came to our table. We had to flag a waiter down and ask him to bring us the bill. At this point he brought the whole table out together, he asked us to place a check mark beside what we were paying for and he would seperate the tabs. We did that and my gf went to the restroom, the other lady that joined us went to her car to get her wallet, she stopped in the front and told the young lady working the register that she was going to her car. In the meantime, we get our ticket, pay and leave. As we are walking to the car, the gentleman who brought us our tab came out and said that we have to pay the other tab. I explained to him that we aren't responsible for something that we didn't eat or drink. He then proceeded to write down my license plate number and I stated to him that was not okay and he needed to call the police if he felt like I had done something wrong. He then stated that he would once I left, after a ton of back and forth in a parking lot full of people and him accusing me of stealing in front of this parking lot FULL of people. The waiter walks back in and comes out with the manager, the manager although very nice the entire time, He was completely lost, he was attempting to listen to me and to Jose, the waiter ( I just at this point remembered his name) tell him he is responsible if we don't pay. I told the manager that he could pull the camera and see exactly what we had and ensure that we had paid for what we had. Jose then rips the sheet of paper that he wrote my license plate down on and puts it in his pocket. I then ask for the paper and he tells the manager that he doesn't know what I am talking about. After about 10 minutes of this, the young lady who went to her car walked up and said she got a call while in the car and sat in the car and took the call, she didn't know it would be that big of a deal...
We didn't ride with this young lady, we didn't share food with this young lady yet this waiter attempted to force us to pay for her food even after she told the cashier that she was going to get her wallet. Jose, the waiter would NOT GIVE UP the paper with my license plate number on it. He would not acknowledge that he was wrong and we were blatantly disrespected and embarrassed and nobody accounted for this...
that was definitely my last trip to this establishment and I will be posting this on every possible website that...
Read moreI have been a customer of Mi Rancho for years. So it brings me such disappointment on my dinner experience a few weeks ago. I will admit the food was hot and quick, very tasty. And the margaritas are some of my favorite in town. However, my waitress appeared to be annoyed with our dinner group. Yes it was a Wednesday evening but it was a celebration for a bday. We felt rushed and they placed us smack in the middle walkway towards the restroom. My complaint is not the seating but on how I was treated. I ordered a top shelf margarita, large and then a small top shelf. On my 3rd drink I decided to order a small Regular margarita. NOT top shelf. Well, when I got my check I was being charged for a 3rd top shelf. The waitress disputed me claiming it was a top shelf. Trust me when I say, I know my top shelf and it wasn't! Well, her manager comes to me and explains it was a top shelf. I argued the fact that it wasn't and this man had the audacity to pull up camera footage of the bartender preparing the margarita from his phone. Basically, trying to say he had it on camera that it was a top shelf. I was not only infuriated but felt so humiliated as my character was attacked and humiliated, in front of my friends. I explained to him where was the footage of the Top shelf being brought to me and he said he had it but failed to show me. I told him, I had no issues paying for the drink if it was a top shelf but it wasn't. I always pay my tab and extra. Needless to say, he said he would not charge me for the 3rd rop shelf and handed me the bill. Its the principal of the matter, ro be accused of having something I did not have. I have had better experiences and customer service at Patron Mexican Grill in Humble. They will now have my loyalty going forward. If I ever go back here, it will be by the bar where I can physically watch them make and hand...
Read moreWell...I love the food. Have always enjoyed going to this restaurant in the past for celebrations and just because for many years. Tonight was to meet with a Grandson that just finished his service in the military and meet his wife. We also had a couple more Grandsons join us. We had a great time. Service was good. We spent $200 not including the automatic 18%tip for a party of 6. The tip is understandable and is just below what we would have added on our own. Unfortunately, we were charged $8 service fee on top of that for using a credit card to pay for our celebration. Really? I've never in my life heard of such a thing. We never saw anything posted regarding this potential fee nor were we notified in advance. So who goes to a restaurant, in this day and age with cash to pay for their meal, especially if it is for a group of more than 5 people? That's ridiculous and it is not safe carrying lots of cash. It won't be us. We won't be charged a service fee from them again. We will go to a different restaurant next time. We will go somewhere else that doesn't use this appalling practice. Mi Rancho should be ashamed of themselves. I will definitely make other family and friends aware that they are doing this and that it is no longer one of our go-to places. This is really so sad and pathetic. Remember, you are in a city and state that has many, many restaurants and opportunities for customers to spent their hard earned money. One of these such places is in the same strip center and anorher is just across the other side of Beltway 8. Now it makes sense that there is no longer a line of customers waiting to be seated. Keep it up and y'all will continue to lose...
