I would give them a minus 1,000 stars if I could. We were passing through town and the regular restaurant was closed for Easter. This was April 20, 2025 about 2:00 or 2:30. We were seated and received our drinks. The waitress wanted to take our order then but I politely asked for a few more minutes to decide. I wanted the chicken quesadilla. I asked if I could add green peppers and onions. I was told no that I would have to get the one that was 5 dollars more that comes with rice and refried beans. I like neither of those. So I look back at the menu to decide and the waitress looks at my husband and asked him what he wanted and he said the steak quesadilla with the rice and beans and my child who is 9 said they wanted the same. I asked her if she could tell me again what all come on the more expensive one. She huffed and rolled her eyes and told me I decided to get it and to not say anything else just eat and leave. All glasses were emptied. Then cups still empty our food was brought out. My child opened their quesadilla and the steak and all the veggies were burnt. As well as on my husband's and on my child's there was hardly any meat. I think for 15 dollars there should be enough to actually see. So when the waitress come back around i asked her if the steak and veggies was supposed to be burnt. she said she didn't know and went and told the manager I'm guessing after a few minutes the lady comes over and I show her the burnt meat and veggies and how there was hardly any meat and she made us feel like we were lying. I had took maybe one bit of mine and my husband's his as well so with my child being only nine I don't think he would have time to eat all the meat in like 5 minutes. I kept showing her the burnt meat picking it up. Then I was picking the burnt veggies up and she still made out like we were lying she kept asking did it come out this way? I thought no we cooked it ourselves at the table smh then we asked for 2 to go boxes and was brought one and I said I need another and she picks up my plate of food to take back to the kitchen I told her twice before she tried i was not done I actually had to take my plate out of her hand and sit it back on the table she brought the check and it was 59.75 and was asked for our change because everytime we get change it goes in my child's piggy bank. The girl brought our 25 cents in change to us in PENNIES!!! That's where she lost her tip. They had been open several hours so I know they had a quarter. She brought pennies so childish does she not know pennies spend just like quarters? This place is a joke. Definitely would not...
Read morePeople, I count over 20 Mexican Restaurants surround La Victoria. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. I can confirm, the reviews are correct. This place ranks as absolutely the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Service was on par with quality of food. I though I would give it a try, maybe they got there act together after a month. Nope. Service - sat at the bar. We couldn’t figure out who our bartender was, like four or five people flying around the inside area of the bar. Got our large $15 glass of Margarita Mix. Serious syrup. No lime on the side. Ask for a glass of water three times. Served stale nachos, they were warm though. Salsa was okay, I do like the fact they bring out extra spicy AND normal salsa. The place was a sauna, for crying out loud, open a door or window. Just plain old hot. Super loud, we couldn’t really here each other in conversation. Also, it is bright, like no mood lighting, just bright lights. Like I said, every worker was running around, it was hectic, crazy.
Food - I am not even sure what they served. I ordered Carnitas Dinner. Which I have ordered about everywhere. I think I was served Carnitas Jerky. Or maybe it was leather? It was a smaller size portion, and it was was tuff, dry and lacking flavor that I didn’t even finish it. That is a first. My wife order a shrimp quesadilla. While she said it was good, I had a bite, peeling back the quesadilla - I saw micro shrimp. Little cute little baby shrimp. Like the ones that are in the freezer at the grocery store that you put on a salad. I thought it tasted like frozen soap or chemicals.
It is amazing at this day and age, a restaurant goes thru the effort of remodeling a building, hiring a full staff, then strikes out completely. Like I said, in the Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville area - there are over 20 established Mexican spots that know what...
Read moreThis is by far the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been too. The waitress was beyond rude and acted like we were a bother for her to have to wait on use no all of our party was completely ready to order and yes I did see her roll her eyes when having to do so didn't understand why such a rush then one person in our part was brought out their food and they opened the quesadilla to let it cool and there was hardly any meat and what meat and vegetables that were there was beyond burnt asked waitress if that was how it was supposed to be made and she said she didn't know asked for a manager a little later one came over and acted like she didn't see a problem and it didn't bother her there was hardly any meat and the meat and vegetables were burnt i mean the onions were just black slivers then the manager asked if it came out that way? Hello?? Does she think we recooked it tableside? I don't have a reason to lie cheese burnt vegetables and 3 pieces of burnt meat is something to complain about. Finally when we finished we asked for the check it was 59.75 and the waitress brought us our change.....25 cents in pennies! PENNIES!! Very childish she lost her tip on that move definitely would not recommend definitely want be back hope everyone who reads this takes this review and goes to taxco because you will most definitely be treated better the only reason we went here is because taxco was...
