Trying to get a to go order in this place has become a nightmare.
They used to allow you to sit at the bar and order a beer while you waited. Last time I walked in there which was over the summer, the snotty blonde bartender asked us if we needed menus or just drinks. We started to say "well, we are ordering something to go but wanted to get a drink in the process" and she cut us off before the "but" and pointed to a random nondescript corner and told us to go there and someone would help us. We tried to clarify our intention but she just kept pointing to the corner.
I was thinking maybe they put in an actual to-go area like Chili's next door where they have a dedicated comfy spot to wait for orders, but there was no seating or signage or anything. I felt like we weren't even supposed to be in that area as it seemed very "employees only." There was nothing but a nasty, beat-up, dirty, grey utility cart covered in black linen napkins, ostensibly to cover up the fact that it was an eyesore that had no place in a guest-facing area. We stood on the sticky tile floor, next to the emergency exit door and in the middle of all the behind-the-scenes action of the back of the house. We (including a disabled member of our party that has difficulty standing) were forced to stand waitong in this little vestibule in the back until someone finally came along and "helped" us order our food. The other guest that was trying to order out opted to go walk out to and sit in her car in the middle of a downpour, guaranteed to get wet, so as not to be stuck in the corner waiting like us. That's how inhospitable the treatment was! We then stood and waited in this greasy little corner, visibly unhappy. A manager walked by and was doing something on the POS system at the other door to the back (on the other side of the bar from where we were) and made eye contact with my visibly angry party as we stood there with crossed arms in disbelief that they stuck us in the back with no seating like second class citizens. He then walked away, completely disinterested. Not a smile, a hello, an "is everything okay?" Nada.
We eventually got our bill, and were made to lean over this nasty, napkin-covered utility cart to sign the credit card slip. Like come on guys at least shell out a couple coins for a card table or something. It was so trashy for a place where they expect you to pay $25+ per plate. You can literally experience better service from Waffle House than this place for a to go order.
I have worked in the hospitality industry on and off for the majority of my adult life. I have managed restaurants and waited tables and tended bars. I frequently dine out (and spend good money, especially when it comes to tipping). We are beer and appetizers type people, not water-with-lemon-and-here's-my-coupon type people. All we expect is decent food and accommodating service. Both of those things have ceased to exist at this LongHorn since Michelle's departure.
By the way, the prime rib was way overcooked, flavorless, and fatty and gristly. Not only did the service SUCK, the food has gone way downhill too.
This all happened some time ago. I finally cooled down and decided to try the food again. Not wanting to stand in their crappy little corner of shame, I figured we could order delivery through DoorDash to not have to deal with it. When it arrived, my side salads and dressing were completely missing from the bag. I tried calling to speak with a manager but was hung up on after several minutes on hold. DoorDash issued us a credit (thanks DD!) and will follow up with LongHorn "to see what went wrong."
Moral of the story: it looks like the only way to ensure they pack everything in your order is to actually walk in and deal with standing in a barren corner, but I'll take a hard pass on that.
I'm embarrassed for the management of this once perfectly fine restaurant with the way they let it go downhill. We used to dine in or get carryout at least once every two weeks or so. I can now safely say I will not be returning until there is a change...

Read moreWe drove to this location from Charlotte because there was no wait. Our server was friendly enough, but our bread arrived the same time as our salads. A few minutes later our food arrived - not enough time to enjoy either.
The food runner asked who had the strip. We told her it wasn't us. We both ordered the Ribeye. After some discussion she left my wife's food, and my lobster, but took back my plate.
Roughly 10 minutes later a manager came back with the same plate. She told me the steak was actually a ribeye - cut in the shape of a strip - which was now at room temp.
When I told her I knew that was wrong- there was no fat cap and no "eye". It was clearly a NY strip. She said, "I can try to find a ribeye in the shape you think is right if you want."
She actually really said that. I offered to eat what was offered but she said "I don't want you to be unhappy, I'll get you another ribeye shaped how you think it should be."
I would have eaten the NY strip. I was hungry and my wife had her food. My lobster nibble was already cold, and her food was getting that way too.
20 minutes later she showed up with an actual ribeye for me. My wife was already finished with her meal. I had eaten my lobster during the delay because it's all I had - all three bites.
Once my food arrived I felt like an idiot eating while she sat there with an empty plate. I stopped eating after a few bites and asked for a box.
The manager did offer us a discount of around $18. I paid over $60 for a joke of a meal. Mistakes happen, but when you face outright dishonesty it's hard to forgive. You should...
