Chronic Tacos — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

We are HB locals. This has been one of our go to spots for years. My husband got a free t-shirt once for his chronic consumption! Sadly, there is a new style of service in place. 1. Ordering at the register instead of going through the line which eliminates the engaged costumer service aspect that made it inviting and friendly. 2. Ordering a style instead of choosing your toppings to ensure accuracy, thus further reducing the experience. Upon inquiry, it was said that this location will be adopting these changes indefinitely.

Our latest experience: My husband went yesterday to get our regular order. He placed it at the register. The receipt was correct but the order was not. My bowl was missing half the toppings and looked like a bowl of soup. So much juice from the beans that my Spanish rice was black. I asked for light onion and got more onions than meat! Absolutely no cheese, lettuce or lime and received the wrong salsa on the side. A total disappointment which has never happened.

My husbands burrito has always packed a punch in size and keeps him full for the day. The burrito he received was just a little larger than a DEL Beef from DEL Taco. Terribly reduced and also, just thrown together. No pride of work or craftsmanship by the handlers and even more so with no one watching.

Strangely, we both got stomach aches after lunch, which has never happened. Sadly, this sealed the deal for us. Franchises should stay true to who they are. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. We will visit alternate locations...

Okay just based on the only thing I've had at this particular location which was the carne asada fries. They call him something different but that's what it is.. carne asada fries. The first time I had them they were incredible second time they were okay. They put a lot of different things on them so if you don't like sour cream or other of the many ingredients they put on there. I had bad experiences at every other chronic Taco I've ever eaten at. The food is always been cold and s* cuz who likes cold food when they're hungry too I'm thinking about delicious warm anyway this place is not disappointed yet anyway.. So if you're a fan just go ahead and cruise in and get your favorite thing.. If you haven't experienced chronic Taco I'd recommend this one because everything I've had has been warm and good. Salud! This review has nothing to do with their food which I enjoy, it has to do with an interaction I had with one of their employees.

I eat at this place 2 or 3 times a week and refer all of my friends. Today I was in there and ordered two burritos. I requested a plastic bag because I was riding a bike and I loop a plastic bag over the bike handle and it’s easier to carry.

Your policy on plastic bags is not a great one. I spend about $200 to $300 a month there.

Your employee did not want to give me a plastic bag so that I could ride my bike safely carrying the food. I’m not sure if this was his call or the management said to stop giving plastic bags.

He kept saying that these bags are expensive... well the amount of money I spend there every month is expensive as well.
