I tried Golden Olive for the first time, and I am struggling with how I'd like to review the restaurant. The food was excellent, no doubt, but the service was so crazy that I just can't overlook the customer service experience I received. First, I ordered 5 plates an hour in advance to ensure my order would be ready. I was attending a very important business meeting and this was the food my clients chose. When I arrived to pick up my order, the guy told me that the person who had left 5 min ago took my order (he never takes ownership and admits he gave my order to them). He gets on the phone and starts profusely calling to get ahold of the customer that just left. After 5 unsuccessful minutes, I asked him to please start my order again, as now I feel the reality that I may be late for my meeting. He tells me, ok, they will make it. 20 minutes later, I am still there with no food, and finally, he packs everything up and hands it to me. I now have to let my client know I will be late, and I arrived about 20 min late. As I am in my meeting with my client, I receive 7 phone calls in a row, all from the Golden Olive, 3 voicemail messages, and 2 text messages. Since I was late for my first meeting, it subsequently made me a little late to my next meeting, and I arrived very flustered. I wonder why all the phone calls from the Golden Olive, so I call as I am walking into my second meeting, only to find out they made a mistake and credited me my payment and need me to give them my credit card so they can charge me again. I didn't have time to do this before the meeting so I told him I would call him at 8:30 p.m. My meeting ends late, and I have another 2 voicemails and 2 text messages asking me to pay. OMG! The ordeal lasted until 9:00 p.m. when I was able to call him with my credit card. The whole incident just ruined my whole evening. No offer to give me a discount, they didn't offer to throw some free pita my way, no coupon for my next...
Read moreGreat Mediterranean food. It’s right along PCH and they are open for indoor and outdoor seatings now.
We came to Huntington Beach with a friend to have a ride on his boat. When lunch came, he asked if would like to try this great Mediterranean food restaurant. We didn’t regret the decision. The food here are fantastic. We love all the things we ordered.
Before the main dishes came out, the restaurant owner gave us two plates of pita breads freshly made. They were so food. I instantly devoured three pita breads with garlic butter dips.
When my food came out, I smelt great fragrance of the food. My chicken kabob was cooked right and the meats were so tasty and tender. The shrimp skewers were also very delicious.
My wife had a Kafka kebab. I tasted a piece, the marinated beef meat tasted so good. The whole dish was wonderful.
We don’t have a chance to eat Mediterranean foods that much as we don’t have a lot of middle eastern food near where we live. This restaurant really have a good selections of the wonder Mediterranean food. My friend also told me that he got very comments from the people he’s been being...

Absolutely GARBAGE.
I wish I had more hands, so I could give this place 4 thumbs down.
I've never in my life received such low level hospitality.
No greeting. "For here or to go?" In the most coldest, unwelcoming manner. Should have been the 1st sign.
But when the patron has to be the one to request water, you already off to a terrible start.
The host is.... RUDE. RUDE. RUDE. Like MISERABLY RUDE.
Selectively Rude that is:
Approximately 10min of waterless waiting, another couple was seated beside us. Somehow, without even requesting, they received 2 glasses of red wine within moments.
We left. She did attempt to follow us after, but it was no point.
These pleasant reviews being left must be from those the host selectively decides to put a smile on for.
I'm inclined to believe she is the owner (which makes it worse) because no way the owner reads 5+ years of all these consistent reviews of the terrible customer service and still keeps this person employed.
I just wish I read the "negative" reviews 1st before driving 30...
