I feel compelled to share my experience, which unfortunately was not as stellar as I would have liked. The main issue was not with the food itself, but rather the service.
I placed my order at 2:55 PM, expecting the food to be ready for pickup between 3:10 and 3:20 PM as per the app's estimate. To avoid waiting, I reached the restaurant five minutes later than the upper estimate at 3:25 PM. However, the ensuing process was quite disjointed.
The hostess acknowledged my arrival and took my name, but the expected communication about my order's status never came. Despite her activities at the computer, including printing a receipt, assisting another client, and restocking the fridge, she failed to update me about my order. It was another worker who eventually noticed my lingering confusion and kindly inquired about my status.
Having clarified the situation, I was assured that it would just be a few minutes before my order would be ready. However, it took another 10 minutes before I felt the need to inquire again, this time with a different hostess. Again, I was told to wait for just 2 minutes, but this extended into a full 5 minutes before I decided to wait outside.
Eventually, my order arrived at 3:50 PM, a full 25 minutes later than the upper estimate provided by GrubHub. This wait was quite surprising given that the restaurant was not bustling; only 2-3 tables were occupied at the time.
The overall impression was one of disorganization among the staff. However, I'd like to clarify that I don't blame the staff themselves. Instead, it seems there is a lack of proper management and defined staff roles, which led to the confusing situation. The sight of a hostess juggling various tasks - from serving food to restocking the fridge - is a clear indication of the need for streamlining operations.
I sincerely hope that the management at Honduras Express will take note and rectify these issues. receiving timely service is as crucial as the...
Read morei really like this restaurant but the reason i am not giving it 5 stars is because i had a bad experience one time. It wasn't the food, but i bought a coupon on groupon for $11. This $11 coupon has a $22 worth at the restaurant. So i purchased 2 of them. The coupon said $22 because that's how much i payed. I gave that coupon to my husband as an early birthday present. We went to eat and i asked the waiter what can i get with this coupon he recommended we get the PARILLADA. So we got that with 2 drinks. The food was AMAZING. really yummy. i have no complaints about that. we got a little bit of everything on that parillada. if i remember correctly the bill came to be around $25-$30. Then he discounted $22. The coupon was suppose to discount double which is $44. I told him and he said sorry but the coupon says $22 ...you can talk to them if you have an issue. Later i found out it was my mistake and that u can only use one coupon per table. So his mistake actually gave me the real discount without his knowledge though. If the coupon said $11 he would of given me $11 instead of $22. I just think if your going to deal with groupon you should have your stuff together. Yes it was my mistake as well but he could of explained what groupon explained to me, but he had no idea the coupon was actually worth $22. Either then that the food and service is great. I recommend paying with cash or credit when you go and avoid...
Read moreWhere do I start? I used to go here as a kid and to see how terrible it’s become, saddens me. We showed up and they had us order our food before sitting, which is fine; however, the person taking our order was not the friendliest person. If you’re gonna place someone at the front, they should be someone that delivers good customer service and makes clients feel welcome. The breakfast options are minimal to almost non existent which was very inconvenient. In addition to that, the variety of their drink options was very limited, unless you like to drink beer for breakfast. We proceeded to just order the one breakfast option available and three baleadas. We went to take a seat and we waited about half an hour for the two breakfasts we ordered. We then had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the three baleadas. That’s ridiculous considering the fact that there was only ONE other family who had already received their food as we placed our order. Once we received our baleadas, it was like a slap to the face! They literally looked like store bought tortillas, and there was a TINY amount of mantequilla. If I’m gonna pay $3.75 for a baleada sencilla (which is ridiculously overpriced) I expect good quality AND quantity. I will definitely not be going back nor will I recommend this...
