Update 3/13/21 : I was excited to bring my boyfriend here, and I am embarrassed to say I was disappointed. I had ordered here two days ago from uber eats, and it is expected not to be hot or warm due to delivery. At room temperature at best. Well that's exactly what temperature they (tortas) were when ordering in person. The only thing warm was the salsas. The super nachos barely had cheese, and was obviously microwaved. The nachos, cheese, and plate became all one entity* like a statue My boyfriend believes the barbacoa tacos were also microwaved and flash fried, which made the tortilla feel mushy. The exposed meat in the taco was more firm than the inside. Tacos dorados were basic, ok. Boyfriend did not bother to eat them. Better off skipping.
Horchata was great!
Too bad they have you pay upfront before seating/eating because I would have asked to refund the micro-nachos. We did not eat them.
Uber Eats 3/11/21 I just had this for dinner! I'm so glad I ordered a torta ahogada (barbacoa). I requested it with spicy salsa on the side. To my surprise both sauces were set aside for me to pour over at home. It wasn't overpowered by oregano flavor like I've experienced with other places' tortas. This was to preserve the nice toasty bread, and avoid it getting soggy by the time I got home. The meat was DELICIOUS. Nice, tender, and moist (even without the sauce). The onions and cabbage on the side were complimentary to the torta. Tacos dorados were ok, I tried requeson and potato. I preferred the potato. I will definitely order again!!! 9/10 for me.
P.s I've tried other tortas ahogadas, and by far this is the best I've had other than homemade. Chagos Tortas and Alameda Swapmeet Torta Ahogada...

I was really excited on finally making it out to this place - because it was highly recommended by a friend a while back. Parking was easily found at this strip mall and because of this, I thought to myself...this is going to be a great place. As you may know, part of a great experience in LA is finding good parking. Alas, that was as good as it was going to get.
My dining partner and I entered the place, not knowing the protocol for this eatery, we stood at the entrance waiting for a server to approach. The place is very small so entering diners are not hard to miss. But, I guess, I was wearing my invisible cloak or something because the server looked at me in the eye and just walked past me - twice! OK, I thought, maybe you just have to sit and they'll come to you; so I did - I found an empty table and sat for the server to bring menus. But, I guess that was not the protocol because ten minutes later, new customers arrived and they were given menus upon entering.
We waited another ten minutes when finally one of three servers for a place of no more than ten tables brought us menus and after another 10 minutes of no approach to take our order, I simply left. Nearly 30 minutes and nothing.
So, can I recommend this place - no not really! About the food - I really don't know. I recommend you read other reviews for this, as this review is strictly about services - WHICH IN MY EXPERIENCE IS...
Read moreThis place was recommended by my friend's neighbor. Was very hungry and excited to try a new place, but was disappointed after 5 min. Typically I give places the benefit of the doubt if they're busy, but this place was not. Maybe the hostess was annoyed because the booth that she picked, Ady's mom did not want. So instead of picking another booth immediately, we waited...and waited....AND waited. Another family walked in and was immediately seated in the booth we declined. I'm not sure what happened, but we had to ask someone else if we were ever going to get seated. The hostess? Left to walk in the kitchen, walked around and never acknowledged us thereafter. Finally, the 2nd lady cleaned the table and we were seated. As stated earlier, I would have been okay if it was extremely busy, but was not. Even the larger group after us received their drinks before us, and our we had ordered first. I traveled from San Diego and Ady from Austin, TX. The hospitality was not there...which is probably why my food was just okay. Would try again, but left with...
