I read the reviews on multiple sites thinking I was going to be having a better experience than I did.
I am new to the Huntsville area, so I thought I'd go in this place. Expecting to be greeted by this so called "sweet" lady, I was yelled at "Do you want something?" as I entered. I politely said table for one, she rolled her eyes and then threw a menu on a table.
She came back about 5 minutes later and said "DRINK?" and I said Ice Water with lemon please and she yet again rolled her eyes and muttered something in chinese.
Another 5 minutes went by, she came back with my water and then yelled "ORDER?" and I asked a question about the Kung Pao chicken (do these come with rice or do I need to order that seperatly). She yelled "Comes with, Spicy or No" and I said spicy and as I was still talking to finish ordering she grabs my menu and walks off. She didn't come back until she had my order and I said "I would like steamed rice with that" and she starts to run off with my food and I say "I WOULD ALSO LIKE A SMALL HOT AND SOUR SOUP."
She comes back, looking even angrier and throws my food onto the table. There was some sort of ketchup in my soup, so I didn't eat it. The Kung Pao chicken was disgusting (I took it to go and changed it at my apartment) and the rice was mushy and wet.
Originally, I would have ordered egg rolls and dumplings as well. So theres about $8 she lost. I gave her an EXTREMELY gracious tip ($3 on $10.48) and explained that the service was terrible and I would most likely not be coming back or recommending this place. She tried to apologize and say she was alone. I know she wasn't because there is a whole kitchen staff working and also a busgirl that walked by a few times without saying anything.
If you can't run the business by yourself, you hire people to help you.
I will not be returning here to eat, nor will I ever recommend it to in town and out of town friends or family (which seeing how both my friends and family will visit me quite often takes away a lot of business she could have possibly had).
I've never had this bad of...
Read moreDisappointing Experience with a Simple Order I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt the need to share my recent experience with China House. My daughter wasn’t feeling well and specifically asked for pho soup. Since this is the one of 2 places in town that offers it, I placed a pickup order through DoorDash after discovering that the phone number listed for the restaurant was out of service. I was on a tight schedule during my lunch break and headed over once I received a text saying the order was ready. When I arrived, a takeout box with my name was handed to me. I immediately noticed there was no soup container and asked about the pho. The staff member looked at the box and said, “Oh, he made fried rice.” She didn’t check with the kitchen or verify anything—just acknowledged what was there. It was implied that the mix-up might have been my error, and although she didn’t directly say it was my fault, I was in a hurry and didn’t push further. I just accepted the order and left. When I got home, I checked both the receipt and my email confirmation from DoorDash and confirmed that I had ordered the P3 Combination Pho—not fried rice (which is listed separately as H6). While the fried rice was fine and my daughter ate it, the experience left me frustrated. There was no attempt to verify the order or offer a correction, and with the phone number not working, I had no easy way to resolve the issue. Mistakes happen, but I expected a little more care—especially when trying to get something simple and comforting for a sick child. I hope they improve communication and order accuracy...
Read moreIf I could give this so called restaurant zero stars or a negative star rating I would! I went the restaurant and ordered Shrimp fried rice and a beef lo mein to go. I was charged $37.88 for my order. After I received my order I went to my vehicle and looked in the boxes. My shrimp fried rice had 4 shrimp total in it and the amount of food that I received for the amount of money I was charged was ridiculous. I went back in and the restaurant owner told me that 4 shrimp to the order was the maximum for their fried rice. I asked if this was the right amount of food I was to be given because it looked extremely small and she said yes. So I asked for a refund to placed back on to my card and she told me that it would be 5-7 days before the money would be returned to my card and she would have to charge me $8.95 to put the money back on my card. I said no that’s ok she said I will add some more shrimp to your order so I said ok. She put the small box which she told me were shrimp into my bag and tied it up. I opened the bag and instead of putting extra shrimp in the box she put three little egg rolls. I will never go to this place again...
